School Supplies
Water fountains will be turned off for sanitation purposes so please bring your own water bottle!  Please pack an extra face mask in your child's backpack!

Each teacher will communicate to students/families through Seesaw which school supplies should be brought to school.
Student Lunches
We would like to encourage all students who enjoy packing a lunch, to please only use a disposable lunch container such as a brown bag to help reduce the items that students use and need sanitized.     
School Fees
School fees have been applied to your student’s PowerSchool account. Fees this year are $70.50 for all 1st and 2nd graders. Fees for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are $73.50. These student fees are for Technology Insurance, Technology Licenses and Everyday Math workbooks. A check can be sent to Gilles-Sweet (made out to Fairview Park City Schools) for your students school fees. They can also be paid online through the PayForIt Program link on www.fairviewparkschools.org or at www.PayForIt.net. Cash cannot be accepted. Please call the school office at 440.356.3525 with questions.
InfoSnap & Emergency Contact Information Update
The Fairview Park City School District uses InfoSnap (accessed through PowerSchool), an online registration program for both new and returning students. Please know that our online registration process for returning students replaces our yearly back-to-school-forms, such as: Emergency Medical Form, Blanket Field Trip Form, Handbook Certification Form, etc. InfoSnap will require parents to download the student handbook, review with your child, and sign off electronically that you understand our school policies. Directions on InfoSnap forms/registration were e-mailed to you when the PowerSchool parent portal opened.

2020 Levy Information
To keep our schools strong and moving forward, the Fairview Park City Schools Board of Education voted to place a new, continuing operating levy on the ballot this November.

Tour the recently-renovated Fairview High School and Lewis F. Mayer Middle School and check out the amazing transformations completed in the building thanks to the community's support in 2016. Small groups will be guided through the building by staff members. Tours will depart from the front lobby every 15 minutes. Please wear a mask.

I love this community! I am lucky that I can see wonderful examples happening all over Fairview Park.

Our teachers making sure each child is getting the education they deserve! Our amazing parents are handling everything in their own houses as well as making sure their child has the tools needed to do their schooling! Our community - reaching out in so many ways - clothing, food, diapers, helping families in need with electric bills - and so many others! As we prepare for next week to begin our hybrid method - take the time to watch this recording of a webinar I attended last week - it is only 50 minutes....I felt like a million bucks when it finished!

Cleveland Public Library is offering tutoring to give students a boost of confidence and help them succeed in school. FREE virtual tutoring is available for students in grades K-12. Sessions will be held Monday - Thursday from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Gilles-Sweet PTA
Welcome to a new year at Gilles-Sweet Elementary School! We are happy to have you as a part of our school community, and invite you to take this opportunity to become a member of our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). The Gilles-Sweet PTA contributes to educational and recreational activities and improvements for our school. Your membership shows your support of your PTA, and all of the events we organize to benefit the students, administrators and teachers at Gilles-Sweet. It also connects you to the organization and helps keep you informed of events and volunteer opportunities at school. Your $10 PTA membership helps support & fund the many events/activities/programs the PTA coordinates for the students and faculty throughout the school year. Our 2020-2021 school year will be unlike any other, but we will continue to strive to support our students, families and staff to the best of our abilities.
