Warriors of the Week

Ruby M. 6th Grade

The 6th grade team has selected Ruby M. as our Warrior of the Week. Ruby joins class both in person and remote daily with a smile on her face. She is helpful to other students while also getting her own work done. Ruby puts full effort into all of her work making sure that only her best work is turned in. We have enjoyed having Ruby in class this year! Keep up the good work Ruby!

Lily B. 7th Grade

The 7th grade team is proud to nominate Lily B. to be the Warrior of the Week. Lily is an exuberant learner who puts 110% into her work no matter what! She excels academically in the classroom and is resilient and gets more determined when faced with challenges. Lily has a sweet personality, is always interested in the topics covered in social studies, and volunteers regularly both in class and virtually. Her enthusiasm for school and learning is refreshing to her teachers and peers and she is seen as a role-model for others. We cannot wait to see Lily grow as a student this year. The world is your canvas, we can't wait to see your masterpiece!

Brigid G. 8th Grade

The 8th grade team is proud to nominate Brigid G. to be the Warrior of the Week. Brigid is such a hard worker, is a dedicated athlete, and has such a positive attitude. She is not afraid to ask questions or email teachers for help. She works very hard and challenges herself to do better. Brigid has a great sense of humor and is a great kid to be around. She really lights up the room! Thanks for working so hard and having such a positive impact on your peers, Brigid. Way to go!

Tiffany H. 9th Grade

The 9th grade team is proud to nominate Tiffany H. to be the Warrior of the Week. Tiffany is a hard worker and very dedicated to improving and being successful. Keep up the good work, Tiffany!

Angelise T. 10th Grade

The 10th grade team is proud to nominate Angelise T. as our Warrior of the Week. Even in the face of adversity, Angelise completes all of her work, communicates at a professional level and bring a unique energy and point of view to every class! Keep up the great work!

Isabella E. 11th Grade

The 11th Grade team has selected Isabella E. as our Warrior of the Week. Isabella is a wonderful and conscientious student. She is always prepared for class, on time and ready to participate. She is also a careful student who really wants to excel. Isabella is a joy to have in class!

Logan H. 12th Grade

The 12th Grade team has selected Logan H. as our Warrior of the Week. Logan completes his assignments in a timely manner - often before they have officially been assigned in class. He has been an active participant in class discussions, his perspective and explanation helping bring about student understanding of difficult concepts. Keep up the good work!

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent teacher conferences will be held November 23rd and 24th. Please note that all conferences this year will be held by phone, so please include your preferred phone number when you sign up for a conference. Please click this LINK to select your child(s) teacher and time slot.

Remote Learning Option

Please note that if you would prefer your child(ren) switch to Full Remote while we are still in a Hybrid Learning Environment, please call your school office to make arrangements.

Additionally if your child cannot come in on their scheduled day but choose to sign in remotely that will be counted as an excused absence and you will need to contact the attendance office at 440.356.3500 ext 4104 or jlockwood@fairview.k12.oh.us. Unfortunately, we cannot make changes on a daily basis based on their need to be in the building or home.

Panorama Survey

Dear Families,

In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we will be asking for your child’s feedback via an online survey they will be completing during school time. The survey shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.

Students in grades 3-12 will answer questions that encourage them to reflect on their own skills, beliefs, competencies, and relationships related to social emotional learning (SEL). Focusing on social emotional learning and creating a safe, supportive, and equitable learning environment is a priority for Fairview Park City Schools and Ohio Department of Education (ODE). Please see ODE’s website for more information regarding SEL.

The first Panorama survey administration for the 2020-2021 school year will take place between November 9 and November 20. The student survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The wording of survey questions is adjusted based on student age.

Students will answer questions about several priority topics:

growth mindset
social awareness
emotion regulation
self-management
positive feelings
challenging feelings
supportive relationships

The survey will be managed by a third party, Panorama Education. We are asking that all of our students in grades 3-12 participate in the surveys, as their feedback will provide valuable insights into their experiences and help us improve and adapt our district to their needs. Please note that district staff will not be able to see how your child responds to individual questions. However, aggregate scores (based on how a student responds to several questions) will be available on a student level for some topics.

We welcome your questions about this process! If you would like to preview the survey, or have your child opt out of taking this survey, please contact your child’s school counselor.

Hello Fairview Park Families!

Thank you! Thank you for being such awesome families! Thank you for being patient and flexible during all that we are going through! Since Parent Universities are very different this year, I am just trying to find resources for parents on a variety of different topics. This week I am highlighting three different programs available to all families:

1) Improbable Players - they have 2 upcoming performances that will be zoomed. The links and dates are enclosed. Both would be a great experience for the family to watch together and have great discussions after. Grades 6-12

3) Teen Money - Starting Nov 17th - ages 12-17years.

These virtual opportunities will help teens grow in their knowledge of money and how to make smart, powerful financial decisions. Lessons will be interactive and use as little PowerPoint as possible. You are encouraged to attend all five weeks, or you can choose the lessons you feel will benefit you the most. We understand that talking about money can be very personal, but know that these lessons will be an opportunity to learn and share as much, or as little, as you wish…and are non-judgmental.

Fairview Park PTA Council is selling Warrior hooded sweatshirts. They are red, gray or black with the Warrior logo. We offer a variety of sizing. Orders are due by November 15th. Contact fpcouncilpresident@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Three sizes to choose from (Youth Large, Adult S/M and Adult L/XL)
Comfortable to wear and not as hot as cotton.
$8 each: Checks should be payable to the Class of 2021.

Youth Large is a good fit for a middle schooler or a 4th/5th grader and up (probably not a small child).

If you did not receive an email, you can login to your PowerSchool account and click “Returning Student Registration” to update information.
