Dream, Design, Build Summer S.T.E.A.M Camp

The EEC will be hosting a special summer program called DREAM, DESIGN, BUILD. This program will be a summer camp experience for students currently in K-4. Students will be engaged in activities that revolve around designing an outdoor classroom. They will help brainstorm and build areas of the classroom like special seating, an amphitheater and gardens. We will also have special field trips that will incorporate ways to support the environment and reinforce the projects we are working on. This will be a wonderful opportunity to unplug and collaborate with peers. Students will be able to attend one (2 week) session and depending on the response possibly other sessions. Please indicate your choice below and if you would like to attend more than one session if we have availability.

Session I June 21st - July 2nd; M-F 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (lunch is included)
Session II July 12th - 23rd; M-F 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (lunch is included)
Session III August 2nd - 13th; M-F 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (lunch is included)

Resources For Talking to Kids About Difficult Current Events

This next kindergarten lesson for in-person students is reviewing and re-teaching expected and unexpected behaviors in the classroom. We read a book and students got a chance to act out behaviors as their classmates decided if they were expected and unexpected. Remote students read the book, I Can Handle It and we talked about how helpful vs. unhelpful ways to handle uncomfortable feelings and situations. We practiced a few breathing strategies and reviewed coping skills. All kindergarten students will be continuously learning about coping strategies and breathing techniques throughout the year and as they move forward through school. Below are a few strategies to practice at home!
