Dear Parishioners,

Last weekend during the St. Sava Sunday School Recital, all proceeds from the luncheon were dedicated to the children of Kosovo and Metohija. Thanks to the generous donations of many of you, nearly $4,000 was collected! 

If you were unable to participate and still wish to donate, please use this website ​​​​https://stsavaboston.org/donate or mail a check to the church (41 Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge, MA 02140) by June 11. Checks should be made payable to St. Petka Circle of Serbian Sisters with "Children of Kosovo" in the memo line. 

Thank you to the volunteers who prepared the food last weekend, and many thanks to our Kolo Sisters for empowering our children to raise funds for the children in need in Kosovo and Metohija.

Протеклог викенда, током завршног програма Недељне школе, сав приход од ручка је посвећен деци на Косову и Метохији. Захваљујући вашим донацијама током ручка а и после, укупан приход тренутно достиже скоро $4,000.

The fast of the apostles starts on Monday, June 12, and ends on July 12, when we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Glorious and All-praised Leaders of the Apostles Peter and Paul.

У понедељак, 12. јуна, почиње Петровски пост који траје до Петровдана, 12 јула.

A memorable End-of-the-School-Year recital held last Sunday to celebrate our church school children at St. Sava Cathedral opened with the St. Sava Children's Choir followed by the St. Sava Children's Dance Ensemble mixed in with skits from Kometa, who have officially become a part of our St. Sava Cathedral community this past school year.

The recital included a delightful array of songs from "Lord Have Mercy" (in three languages) to "Mi Smo Deca Neba" to "Pojte Pojte Njemu Svi u Glas, Sveti Sava je uz Nas!" to "Pjevam Danju, Pjevam Nocu" culminating with the youngest children beautifully singing "Deca Su Ukras Sveta" which we all would agree—they most certainly are!

The charming Serbian skits themed "Protecting our Planet" with witty discussions amongst animals, flowers, and even a talking refrigerator made for a wonderful teachable performance that no one will soon forget!

To top it off, our three folk dancing groups performed from our youngest artists medley of Serbian children's favorite dances, including Morava, Kolubarski Vez, Nebesko, Mangupsko, Hajd Povedi, Ćaj Ćiro, and Dunje Ranke to our middle group debuting their new costumes and dance from Vojvodina, and climaxing with the oldest performers showing off their intricate steps from Šopske igre and igre iz Leskovac.

A round of applause was heard for all performers, teachers, parents, and Fr. Aleksandar. Shoutouts were also given to our stage crew for lights, sound, costumes, and backstage assistance. Finally, a special thank you to our program coordinator and emcee. Truly a team effort!

1st Sunday after Pentecost - of All Saints

Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
