Dear Parishioners, 

The St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral Board invites you to an open meeting on Saturday, June 11, for the limited purpose of soliciting parish input on the future of the Sunday School Folklore Cultural portion of the Sunday school program, as discussed at the Annual Assembly in February 2022. The meeting will be conducted from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. 

The Church Board and Parish Priest will solicit any and all commentary regarding the structure and organization of the folklore cultural portion of the current Sunday school program. There will be no formal voting at this open meeting, and no final decisions will be issued at that time. 

After the open meeting, the Church Board and Parish Priest will consider and review all input and then issue their plans on the 2022-2023 structure in the coming weeks. Your feedback and participation are appreciated.

Управни одбор Храма Свети Сава из Бостона вас позива на отворену седницу Одбора у суботу, 11. јуна, с циљем размене мишљења о будућности фолклорне секције програма Недељне школе, како је разматрано на Годишњој скупштини у фебруару 2022. године. Састанак ће се одржати од 19 до 20:30 часова.

Црквени одбор и свештеник ће саслушати све предлоге у вези са структуром и организацијом фолклорног програма Недељне школе. На овом отвореном састанку неће бити формалног гласања и тада неће бити донете коначне одлуке.

Након отвореног састанка, Црквени одбор и свештеник ће размотрити све предлоге, а затим објавити своје планове о структури фолклорног програма 2022/23 у наредних пар недеља. Хвала на учешћу и доприносу на овом састанку.

The sinning by word is the most common and fastest sin. He who does not stumble in the word is perfect, says the Apostle James (James 3: 2).

When a penitent follows the ways of God, that is, when he begins to live according to the commandments of God, let him try first NOT TO SIN WITH WORDS.

Repentant David had set such a rule for himself. He was especially determined to remain silent before his opponents: I will restrain my mouth when the sinner stands before me.

Christ was silent before Pilate. "Don't you answer me?" Pilate told him. What can he answer you, when you don't have ears to hear or reason to understand?

Behold, the silence of the righteous before the unrighteous can still have the best effect on the unrighteous. Left to interpret the silence of the righteous alone, the unrighteous can interpret it for the benefit of his soul, while he will interpret every answer, white or black, to the evil and condemnation of another, and to justify himself.

Pentecost Sunday

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?” So there was a division among the people because of Him. Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him. Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why have you not brought Him?” The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” Then the Pharisees answered them, “Are you also deceived? Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him? But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.” Nikodemos (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them, “Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?” They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

А у последњи велики дан празника стајаше Исус и викаше говорећи: Ко је жедан нека дође к мени и пије. Који ме верује, као што писмо рече, из његова тела потећи ће реке живе воде. А ово рече за Духа ког после примише они који верују у име Његово: јер Дух Свети још не беше на њима, јер Исус још не беше прослављен. А многи од народа чувши ове речи говораху: Ово је заиста пророк. Други говораху: Ово је Христос. А једни говораху: Зар ће Христос из Галилеје доћи? Не каза ли писмо да ће Христос доћи од семена Давидовог, и из села Витлејема одакле беше Давид? Тако распра постаде у народу Њега ради. А неки од њих хтеше да Га ухвате; али нико не метну руку на Њ. Дођоше пак слуге ка главарима свештеничким и фарисејима; и они им рекоше: Зашто га не доведосте? А слуге одговорише: Никад човек није тако говорио као овај човек. Тада им одговорише фарисеји: Зар се и ви преваристе? Верова ли га ко од кнезова или од фарисеја? Него народ овај, који не зна закон, проклет је. Рече им Никодим што долази к Њему ноћу, који беше један од њих: Еда ли закон наш суди човеку докле га најпре не саслуша и дозна шта чини? Одговорише му и рекоше: Ниси ли и ти из Галилеје? Разгледај и види да пророк из Галилеје не долази.

Исус им, пак, опет рече: Ја сам видело свету: ко иде за мном неће ходити по тами, него ће имати видело живота.
