For our Homecoming Brunch the menu is Quiches plus.

Plus is your contribution: fruit or fruit salad, muffins, banana or maybe zucchini bread, bagels (don't forget the cream cheese), cookies or brownies. Beverages (sparkling water, juice, iced tea) are also a plus.

A signup sheet will be at the Collation Table on upcoming Sundays -- so that we all can see what everyone will be bringing on 9/15.

Sunday School News:

What a great summer! Sunday Fundays were a big success. We all got to know each other better as we shared some of the Hard Things (times we could pray for help) and Good Things (times we could give thanks) happening in our lives. Even our littlest Sunday Schoolers contributed their thoughts!

September marks the beginning of the school year and also our Sunday School Year. Many of you know we use Godly Play (this is our 4th year!) a curriculum with a Montessori foundation. It’s a powerful and lovely way for children to make meaning of their spiritual lives through the stories of the Bible and the church.

Parent Gathering (but everyone is welcome!)

It’s been great to see parents gather during coffee time. Can we make this ‘A THING’ on September 8th? Please get your coffee and treats and then gather near the stage for a chance to meet our staff and helpers, hear a short Godly Play Story, see a general outline of churchy events (some that I might think of that morning and some that I hope you can help us brainstorm- like a possible family night with food and games?), and more. Sounds long but it won’t be because the best meetings never are.

With Peace,

Siobhan

New Sunday Morning Parking Signage
First Church is experiencing a number of churchgoers being dropped off in the front driveway, and the church council has been asked to address the difficulty they experience negotiating along the lawn and accessing the sidewalk between the parked cars.
As we welcome those who are older or less agile, we are setting aside an area in the front drive limited to “Drop Off/Pick Up Only.”  There will still be a few handicap and other open slots along the curved drive, but the space between the new signs will be a “No Parking" area.  These signs will be placed outside on Sunday mornings only, unless other groups request use of them for their events.
Thank you for your understanding as we continue to work to welcome one and all.

difficult family situations. We at Al-Anon are very grateful to the First Church of Swampscott which has offered us space to hold our meetings, as below:
