From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! It is hard to believe we are down to just 8 weeks of school left! We still have a great deal to accomplish in those short weeks.

Here are a few important things coming up in the weeks ahead:

  • Safe Environment Week (April 18th-24th). Specific lesson plans in all classes will be geared to personal safety and abuse prevention. Monday, April 19th: wear blue for Child Abuse Awareness Day. Students may wear blue tops & jeans.

  • Athletics! We are hoping that Fall will bring Athletics back to our schools (grades 5-8). We need to reconvene our athletic Association since we haven't met in almost a year. We need to regroup, recharge, and recommit our committee. NOW is the time to join. We cannot have an athletic program here at SAL without parents to serve on this committee - even though Athletics formally begins in grade 5, parents of students in any grade are welcome to join. An organizational meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 27th at 6:30pm in the Science Room. Please enter through the kindergarten doors. Again, this meeting is for members who wish to continue to serve on athletics along with new members.

  • Culvers Out of Uniform Day - For those of you who were able to attend our Culvers Night - the Out of Uniform Day will be this Thursday. Please present your coupon to your teacher.

  • Olympic Day - It's back! Friday, May 28th is our planned Olympic Day for our students. If you are interested in helping plan and or work on this day, please contact the office. This is an exciting, fun day for our students! Please let us know if you are able to help us out.

  • Tentative School calendar 2021-2022 - here is our tentative calendar for next school year. Please let me know if there are any questions.

We will celebrate our April birthdays at Mass on April 21. Students with an April birthday may have a "dress-up" day (no jeans or sweats please!). All students will be named (those in church will come forth), and will receive a special gift from the office. As always, parents are invited to join us for Mass in person or virtually.

Please see the Track flyer for information. Students in grades 5-8 are eligible to run track and this year is FREE for all who would like to participate. Parent volunteers are also needed to help out. All safety protocols will be followed. Come and check out SAL track!

New Facebook Group
The St. Anthony on the Lake School now has its very own Facebook group. This group will be used to promote positive things going on in our school and church communities. This is a private group where only members can see who is in the group and what they post. The group can be accessed here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/807838913403377/

Prayers, Celebrations, and Gratitude
Yesterday was Divine Mercy Sunday:
"Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion — inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself." Come and explore the Catholic Ecology Center property which is now open at a new site just 12 minutes West of Holy Hill.
