Easter Sunday
Worship April 4, 2021
Scripture: Luke 24:1-12 NRSV
Sermon: Remember and Be Amazed

We are Easter people and today we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we celebrate today let’s remember the hope, peace, joy, and love of Jesus that can still amaze us.
Happy Easter! Out of all the days in a year, Easter Sunday is my favorite day. I love the resurrection story, and I still get chills thinking about what happened on that third day. Many times I will read all four Gospels and their description of what took place close to two thousand years ago. I will be preaching from Luke 24:1-12 for this Sunday because Luke helps us to remember to be amazed. My prayer for all Christians is that we will remember all the hope, peace, joy, and love of Easter and still be amazed at all that Jesus did AND does for us.

The women at Jesus’ tomb early on that Sunday morning must have been amazed at what they saw and heard, and I just love what the angels said to them. They asked, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” What are you looking for this Easter? What are you seeking because of Jesus? Scripture tells us that Peter ran to the tomb to see for himself what had happened and that he was amazed. Maybe you need to be reminded, or you need to once again see for yourself, how amazing Jesus is as you celebrate and worship the risen Savior this Easter Sunday.

Remember, God loves you and so do I.
