Worship August 15, 2021 Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 The Message Message: The Don'ts of Love When we think about how we are to love and treat others, the ways of the Lord should come to mind. However, sometimes we need Paul's reminders of the don'ts of love so we can truly love following the example of Christ.

“I love you!” Three, little words that mean so much! There is no greater love than the love God has for His children and it is that kind of love we can share with others. But are we showing it the right way? This Sunday I will continue my sermon series on the do’s and don’ts of love from 1Corinthians 13 with special attention to what love is not. The Apostle Paul states eleven different things that love does not do, and I wonder how many times we have actually done these. I’m not sure we give a lot of thought to HOW we show love, so I hope this Sunday’s message will help us see and follow the example of Christ and His love for us. There is one thing we know for sure about love – God loves you! And so do I. Pastor Eddie

Robert Viera is joining our team as Director of Family Ministries! From Robert: "I was born in Puerto Rico to minister parents and have grown up living in various cities across the US. For the past 15 years I have been in full time ministry as a pastor and missionary in several locations. I am a proud father of two beautiful daughters Alana (11) and Leyla (10). I have a passion to serve God through the service of others. My idea of relaxing is playing a round of golf." Scott Keesey joins our ministry team as our Director of Music following nearly eight years at Carrollton First UMC.  Scott spent 16 years in public school music education as a choral director and general music teacher. During his tenure in the school system he served part time at Brooks United Methodist Church for 2 years, and McDonough First United Methodist Church for nearly 14 years.

WEEKDAY DAYTIME BIBLE STUDY GROUPS JOY Bible Study will meet "in person" weekly on Wednesdays at 10:00AM in the church Fellowship Hall. The group is studying Philippians using the Bible and The Seedbed Daily Text FIRST LOVE by J.D. Walt.   Interested ladies may contact Bobbye Raye Kennison for more information.

The Men's Bible Study group has resumed weekly meetings at Berkeley Hills Country Club on Thursdays at 11:45am.  The study is in Romans using the Knowing the Bible, 12 week study series by Crossway Books.   Any men interested in joining our group are encouraged to come over to Berkeley Hills CC for prayer, fellowship and Bible study each Thursday at 11:45am. NFUMC Walk to Emmaus "Picnic" August 22! The NFUMC Walk to Emmaus community will hold a picnic themed "social" on Sunday, August 22, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Any adult, youth (10th-12th grade) or young adult ages 18-24 from our NFUMC community of faith who is interested to learn more about Walk to Emmaus, Chrysalis, or Face to Face encounters is invited to attend as our guest. If you attended an Emmaus or similar three-day weekend in another community and attend Norcross 1st, we would like to connect you with our NFUMC Emmaus community if you are not already receiving communications from us. We have resumed offering Fellowship Time with coffee only weekly on Sundays from 10:30 – 10:55am in the Gathering Area outside the Family Life Center. Still being COVID-minded, we will not be offering snacks, only coffee. Enjoy this time to catch up with those you haven’t seen for a while over a cup of fresh brewed coffee! Please finish your coffee before entering the Sanctuary for Worship.
