ReGen Thanks Mens Group

Last night the Friday Men's Group prepared a delicious chicken, fish and chips dinner for the ReGeneration Service. It was accompanied by salad and yummy cakes and ice cream. We are all very appreciative and look forward to the next one on the 18th!
St. Bart's Needs YOU
We are seeking 9 candidates who will play an active, instrumental part of shaping the church’s future by running for a Vestry position (4 spots) or as a delegate to the 2023 Diocesan Convention (5 spots available). If you would like to learn more or consider filling one of these roles, send an email or hand a note to Interim Rector Bill Doggett or Senior Warden Costa Dillon, before January 22, 2023. Elections will be held in person and online at the annual meeting on January 29, 2023.
No Handbell Rehearsal
While our other vocal choir rehearsals resume this week, There will be no handbell choir rehearsals for the next two weeks. We will resume on Monday, Jan 23rd, 2023 at 7pm.

Tues Book Study Zoom
We will read one chapter a week of Jesus and the Dead Sea Scrolls: Revealing the Jewish Roots of Christianity by Bergsma (ISBN-13 978-1984823120; available on Amazon). Anyone interested may join our zoom call at 2 pm each Tuesday for about 30-40 minutes. This will start on Jan 10th and last 16-18 weeks ending at the beginning of May. Contact Jerry Blanton.
Comparative Bible Study
Deacon Bill Zettinger and Bob Capettini will lead a Zoom Bible study on The Bible and the Qur'an on Wednesdays at 10am beginning January 11 through April 12 with weeks off for Ash Wednesday and Holy week. RSVP to Bob at rcapetti@sdsu.edu. More info here.

Women's Hybrid Bible Study
This group resumes at 6 pm on January 11, 2023 to February 15, 2023 . It's a hybrid meeting, on campus and Zoom that will study the book: Seamless, Understanding the Bible as One Complete Story by Angie Smith. (ISBN-13 ‏ : ‎ 978-1430032304) Synopsis: The Bible is a vast library written by 40 authors, but the amazing thing is those 66 books tell one seamless story about the God who made us, loves us, redeems us and has a future for us. Contact Anne Snyder at 858-485-0562.

InterFaith Lunches on Jan 11
The Youth Crew invites you to make sack lunches with us on 1/11/23 at 6:30pm in the MPR. We will deliver to InterFaith the following morning. This service project will occur every 2nd Wednesday of the month in collaboration with St. Bart's Outreach Ministries. Please RSVP to Lauren Sleeper if you would like to join us.

Parents Night Out on Jan 13
The Youth Crew will host a Parents Night Out on January 13th from 5-8pm where we will have dinner, play games, do crafts and watch the movie: Sing! Children ages 3-13 may be dropped off after registering with Christine Sleeper. Suggested goodwill donations of $20 for the first child and $10 for each sibling will go towards the youth crew's upcoming trip to Disney Land. Tell your friends!

Youth Outing on Jan 22
The Youth Crew needs extra drivers/ chaperones for our special outing on Jan 22nd to drive youth to lunch, the mall and then to a movie theater. We will meet at church at 11:15am and carpool from there. If you can help, please contact Christine Sleeper.

Annual Meeting on Jan 29
Mark your calendars and plan to be at church for our annual meeting that will be held on Sunday, January 29th at our 9:30am Service. The Brass Choir will be playing on this day! As is our tradition, there will be a meal included as part of our experience. We look forward to seeing you there!

Holiday Cleanup on Jan 7th
The Rancho Bernardo Kiwanis Club has invited us to join them for an annual service project of taking down Christmas decorations at the Ronald McDonald House on Sat, Jan 7th from 8:30am-Noon. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all volunteers. RSVP to Lauren Sleeper.
North County Climate Change Alliance on Jan 12th
The NCCCA has invited us to attend their next monthly talk on Thursday, January 12th at 5:30 PM. Their guest speaker, Nesha Abiraj, is a human rights attorney, and her talk will cover the intersectionality of law, human rights, equity for women and girls, the environment, ecocide, and the climate crisis. Sacred Ground Circle
We are partnering with Incarnation Lutheran for an IN PERSON series! It will be held on their campus with Colleen Chapin from St. Bart's as the host. Informational meeting will be on Tues, Jan 24th from 10-11am at Incarnation Lutheran. The Diocese will also be hosting a Monday Zoom Series and a Friday Zoom Series with informational meetings on Mon, Jan 23rd from 3-4pm on Zoom, & Fri, Jan 27th from 6-7pm on Zoom.
