Hand Towels Needed

The St. Bart’s kitchen could use some extra hand towels. Now that we are hosting regular Parents’ Nights Out, sandwich-making services, ReGen dinners, Lenten soup suppers, etc., hand towels are in short supply. If you would like to purchase any or have extra at home, please drop them off at the church office. Thank you.

Easter Flower Donations

A donation to the Flower Guild for Easter lilies and flowers is a wonderful way to celebrate Easter and honor special people in your life. Easter Flower envelopes are available in church. Please list the people you are giving thanks for or memorializing on the designated spot on the envelope and write “Flower Guild donation” on the memo line of your check. The Flower Guild is supported solely by donations. They are always thankful for your generosity at Christmas, Easter and all year long. For more information, contact Bobbie Davis, Flower Guild Chair, at (858) 485-0132.
People in Fellowship
Fellowship Committee

Do you like spending time with your fellow parishioners? Do you want more opportunities to get to know one another? St. Bart’s is starting a Fellowship Committee that will plan parish-wide events such as movie nights, field trips, summer socials, etc. A few people have come forward, but we need a few more to fill out the committee and add variety to our functions and fun! If you are interested in joining this group, contact Fr. Bill Doggett.

Sumner Rollings square
Sumner Rollings Memorial

Sumner was a faithful member of St Barts for over 30 years. He loved running the barbeque for the annual meetings, became active in the St. Bart’s Thrift Shop working in the back room and served as president of the Thrift Shop board. He sang in the choir, was a LEM, a verger and chaired the Stewardship Committee, of which he was involved for over five years. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 18th at 1:00pm at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Sumner’s name to Samaritan’s Purse. His wife Nancy welcomes our calls.
Suzi Farar and dog square
Suzi Farar Memorial

Suzi joined St. Bart’s in 1972. She was in the Order of St. Luke’s, in Cursillo, was a Lay Eucharistic Minister, and served as a Chaplin on the search committee when we called Fr. Mark. She was then on the building committee, which their family generously donated towards. Suzi also enjoyed playing guitar when we had folk services. Her memorial service will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on March 23, 10:30am. There will be a committal and reception at St. Bartholomew’s that day at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Prayers and Squares quilting ministry of St. Bart’s. Her husband Jim and their daughter Lisa welcome our calls.
Beyond Our Parish
Camp Stevens Sunday Is March 19

What Is Camp Stevens?
Camp Stevens is your diocesan camp! Camp Stevens’ mission is to inspire, challenge and empower personal, social and environmental transformation. For 70+ years, Camp Stevens has provided a welcoming home for retreats, summer camps and outdoor education in the mountain town of Julian, CA. Our 256 acres serve as a place of healing, adventure and, most importantly, community. Learn more about Camp Stevens at campstevens.org.

Camp Stevens Sunday Prayer
God of the oak and the pine, of sunrise and sunset, and of healing and love, hear our prayers. Celebrate those who love Camp Stevens and those who are discovering camp today for the first time. Keep us mindful of the rights and needs of others through Camp Stevens’ mission work of transformation grounded in the values of openness, connection, gratitude and wonder. Amen.

Support our Equity Initiatives! Camperships and Employee Equity Grants
Your gift will support scholarships for summer camp and family camps, as well as the Employment Equity Initiative. These initiatives reflect our commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion within our camp environment and beyond. This program will help address barriers to participation for people traditionally marginalized and underrepresented in camp, whether as campers, in family programs or in staff and counselor roles.

Give today to support this important initiative at campstevens.org/give!
