Worship November 21, 2021
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and Ephesians 5:19-20 (NIV)
Message: Thanks Living

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever." - Psalm 107:1
"Your recovery will take 3-6 weeks." - Dr. Rhee, Emory Spine and Orthopedics Surgeon
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances." - 1Thessalonians 5:16

These three reminders keep coming up in my head, and with Thanksgiving being next week, they ring loud and clear. As I am just in my second of the 3-6 week recovery from spinal surgery I am trying to be patient with myself while remembering to give thanks in all circumstances and to rejoice no matter what. Thanksgiving reminds us every year of what we need to be doing every day - give thanks! It doesn't take but a second to bring to mind things to be thankful for and God must be at the top of that list.
I am so thankful for the cards and messages from many of you after my surgery, and Sarah and I cannot thank you enough for the prayers. What are YOU thankful for today? What specific person or thing are you most thankful for right now? Thank God for that person or thing, and if possible, thank that person yourself. Even through a world-wide pandemic we can give thanks to the Lord because He is good and His love endures forever. Don't wait until next Thursday to thank the Lord. He is worthy of our praise every day.
Remember, God loves you and so do I.
Pastor Eddie
Thank you to all for the cards and messages and especially the prayers before, during, and after my surgery. The healing process is slower than expected so Sarah and I really appreciate the continued prayers.
We are blessed by you, our church family, and we wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
-Pastor Eddie and Sarah
