Worship October 10, 2021
Scripture: Psalm 100 NRSV
Message: We Worship

Who are we? Who are we as God's church?
We proudly proclaim we are a church of and for Jesus Christ, and as United Methodists our mission statement is that we are making disciples for Jesus for the transformation of the world. Here at Norcross First UMC we do so through worship, growth, connection and service. Today we are looking at who we are as worshipers.
Who are we? Who are we as a church; as the Body of Christ; as NFUMC members? It’s easy to look around the church and see who/what we claim to be as there are large pictures stating that we worship, grow, connect, and serve. What does this mean and how do we do it? I will be preaching on these topics over the next four Sundays in a sermon series titled, “Who Are We?”
This Sunday we will look at worship from Psalm 100 because as God’s people we were created to worship Him. The Psalmist says we are to worship the Lord with gladness and how we enter the worship space is so important. Worshipping God is not a once a week obligation, but a daily, joyful act of love, and when we do so together it fills our hearts. This helps us fulfill our United Methodist mission statement which claims we are making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. How do YOU worship the Lord? I hope you will join me for this series as we worship, grow, connect, and serve together. Remember, God loves you and so do I.

Jet Set Meeting
October 20 | 11am | Fellowship Hall

Come join us for our October meeting, program, and meal. Our presenter will be Keith Nabb, Affordable Medicare Solutions. Keith is an annual favorite as he presents things we all need to be aware of regarding Medicare changes for 2022 and the importance of having a Medicare review. Free materials will be available and Keith will identify the means to schedule free, personalized Medicare reviews. Due to lingering pandemic concerns, we ask members to bring your own “sack” lunch; beverages will be provided. We hope to reintroduce our infamous covered dish lunches in the near future. While this is a senior oriented group, you do not need to be of retirement age to join in our meetings and activities. Invite a friend as a guest to experience the fun and fellowship.
