Scripture: Galatians 5:1, 13-14 NRSV
Message: True Freedom
To experience true freedom in this world Jesus must be the One to set you free from all your sins. What comes from this true freedom is the ability to truly love others.
It’s hard to believe that the worst attack on American soil was 20 years ago. The events that took place in New York, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania shook the very fabric and foundation of our freedom like never before. It was definitely one of those times that people will always remember where they were when it happened. September 11, 2001 is a day most of us will never forget, and yet as Christians, we are called to forgive. Without true forgiveness we will never enjoy true freedom. The Apostle Paul wrote several times about freedom in his letters to the churches he helped start and we see that in this Sunday’s scripture from Galatians 5:1, 13-14. Paul reminds us that Christ is the One who gives true freedom and we are to stand firm in that promise AND we are to love our neighbor. When we hold on to past hurts and wrongs done to us, then we are not living full and joyful lives; the abundant life Jesus gives to us. True freedom through Christ means we CAN love our neighbor and we CAN forgive those who have hurt us. It’s not easy, but with God all things are possible.
Remember that God loves you and so do I.
Pastor Eddie

"David the King." Long after Adam, David emerged as the definitive king who would restore order in the Garden and bring the world under the lordship of God. But like Adam, David fell. God promised a son of David who would realize the fullness of Israelite kingship...but whose actual reign defied expectation. Come see how King David causes us to look back toward Adam’s kingship and forward toward Christ the King, seeing Christ as the fulfillment of the Davidic line and the realization of the Kingdom of God on earth.

GREAT NEWS! The JetSet Club will finally begin meeting together again in-person on September 15th at 11am. Come join us for our meeting, program, and meal. This will be a celebratory event, so we will have BINGO as our premiere program. Please bring your pennies as markers for your BINGO card; additional pennies will be available. We will have some fun and intriguing prizes available to win. Due to lingering pandemic concerns, we ask members to bring your own “sack” lunch; beverages will be provided. We hope to reintroduce our infamous covered dish lunches in the near future. While this is a senior oriented group, you do not need to be of retirement age to join in our meetings and activities. We look forward to seeing all of you back in this setting and put the pandemic in the rearview mirror. Invite a friend as a guest to experience the fun and fellowship.
NBTween and Students
Dear Students and Parents,
Just a reminder that NBTween and Student ministry Sunday School are continuing to meet in person, and NBTween is still doing Zoom as well. On Sunday mornings, all grades (5-12) meet downstairs in the Youth Gathering Area (The Brick) at 9:30.
Update for in-person meeting: In cooperation with Pastor Eddie’s email regarding the rise in COVID cases, all attendees (even if vaccinated) are to wear masks the entire time we are in the building.
NBTween students:
This Sunday the NB Tweens will be talking about Gossip. Gossip is something that everyone struggles with. But Gossip hurts others and never brings honor to God. Instead, we need to use our words to build up and encourage others. We will be using Ephesians 4:29.
NBTween students who are not comfortable being in-person at this time, please use the link below to access the NBTween Zoom session starting at 10 AM on Sunday (after games).
Join NBTween Zoom:
