Remember, the congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, December 8th, where the congregation will vote on extending a call to the candidate!

Mission Project
The Women of Redeemer are collecting feminine products for the Helping Hand during the month of November. Lack of feminine products is a concern for low-income girls and women throughout the world and in our own community. In a recent survey completed by a St. Louis based woman-centered non-profit, two-thirds of the respondents reported difficulties affording period supplies in the last year, half had to choose between period supplies or food in the last year and one fifth of respondents reported that period supplies were a financial stressor every month. (Source: Reuter’s News article) A collection box can be found in the gathering area.
Redeemer Book Club will meet at the home of
Julia Hagen (912 Scott Felton - please note address update) on Thursday, November 21st, at 7:30 p.m
Our book selection is A Single Thread by Tracy
Chevalier. As always, all are welcome.
From Reading Guides website:
1932. After the Great War took both her beloved brother and her fiancé, Violet Speedwell has become a "surplus woman," one of a generation doomed to a life of spinsterhood after the war killed so many young men. Yet Violet cannot
reconcile herself to a life spent caring for her grieving,
embittered mother. After countless meals of boiled eggs and dry toast, she saves enough to move out of her mother's place and into the town of Winchester, home to one of
England's grandest cathedrals. There, Violet is drawn into a society of broderers --- women who embroider kneelers for the Cathedral, carrying on a centuries-long tradition of bringing comfort to worshippers.

Indianola Operation Christmas is a group of lay people from several Indianola churches who have come together to distribute food and gifts to people in need at Christmas. The Indianola Church of Christ will be used to distribute food vouchers, and the Indianola Walmart store will be used as the site for the guided selection of gifts.
All this takes place on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 from 5:45 pm – 8:00 pm.
Volunteer help is needed to:
·  Help recipients purchase gift items at the Indianola Walmart Store from 5:45 – 8pm.
·  Help distribute food vouchers at the Indianola Church of Christ from 5:45 – 8pm.
To volunteer please contact Deb McDaniel at 515.240.2029 or dmcdaniel_38@msn.com .
If you have any questions, contact Becky Kakac (515.577.8159) or Janis Strong (515.975.7290).
Once again, we will have a “Giving Tree” to help Warren County families at Christmas. We are working with Lutheran Services for gifts for families in need. We will also be working with the Indianola HOPE Foundation for monetary gifts. We hope to have the tree up and ready the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 30).

There will be a paper ornament with the child’s/adult’s request. Once you purchase the gift listed on the ornament, attach the paper ornament to the unwrapped gift. Place under the tree by Sunday, December 15 th .    Gifts cannot be accepted past this date.

If you prefer to give a cash donation, those will go to The Indianola HOPE Foundation. Please make checks payable to the Indianola HOPE Foundation ( not Redeemer ). HOPE does NOT accept gifts or gift cards—money only. Any gift cards will be given to the families through Lutheran Services.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions. Thanks!

The intent of Indianola HOPE is to provide comfort to our school district’s students and families who are in difficult situations that warrant immediate attention. Immediate, temporary assistance to Indianola students and their families will be provided when they suffer needs related to food, clothing, shelter, medical needs or transportation. By helping students with problems related to basic needs, Indianola HOPE seeks to create a more effective learning environment in the Indianola schools. Students learn best when their basic needs for survival are met and when they know teachers and other school staff care about them.
Sunday School Christmas Program will be held during worship on Sunday, December 15.

  • Rehearsals will occur during the Sunday School music time.
  • Dress rehearsal will be held during the Sunday School hour on Sunday, December 15.
  • For the program, we ask that the kids wear solid color leggings/sweats, a solid top (think colorful), and a bow tie.
  • We will provide the kids with mouse ears and a tail to complete their costume.
  • We would like each of the kids/mice to bring an accessory such as a small suitcase, small "moving box", small broom, etc. that helps to flesh out the "moving in" theme of the program.
