Important Medication Information from Nurse Mendez

Dear Parents/Guardians,
I want to remind you that the State of NJ has strict rules relating to administration of
medication to a student during school hours. "Medication" includes prescription and over-
the-counter medicine not limited to Tylenol (Acetaminophen), Motrin (Ibuprofen), eye
drops, cough drops and sun screen, even medicinal supplements such as vitamins cannot
be self-administered. The district has policies and regulations that the nursing staff must
adhere to.

Children cannot self-administer or carry "medication" in their pockets or backpacks.
All medications must be brought to the health office by the parent/guardian in an original
container, labeled with the student's name, accompanied with the district's medication
form completed by both the parent and student's healthcare practitioner, form can be
found at:

Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Pomptonian Newsletter

The Pomptonian Newsletter for May includes the local fruit and vegetable of the month being included in school lunches.  The newsletter highlights the farms that grow the fruits and vegetables on your child's lunch tray. You can learn more about the food and farms by reading the newsletter HERE.
Library Volunteer Sign Ups

If you are interested in helping out during the school year, please consider serving as a Library Volunteer. This is a great chance to see your child's class in action while they visit the library. Volunteers will help to shelve books, with book selection and check out.

(Please note, no siblings are allowed in the library while volunteering. Thank you!)

Please check out the sign up genius: CLICK HERE.
Scroll through until you find your child's class and then select dates. Please only select one date per month so others have a chance to help out too.

Thank you!
