PTA Santa Shop
Santa Shop is coming to Gilles-Sweet December 4th-7th!  This is our holiday store in the gym where students can shop for gifts for their family during school hours. All gifts are $5 and under. The kids love it, and the helper "elves" have lots of fun, too! Please save the dates, as we need a ton of "elves" to wrap presents and help the students shop. Moms, dads, grandparents, friends, neighbors!  You can sign up at the following link
Also, we are seeking donations of holiday wrapping paper and especially tissue paper, tags and tape (no ribbons or bows needed). These can be dropped off in the school office. Contact Nancy Stoessner at  nstoessner125@yahoo.com   if you have questions. Thank you!
PTA Reflections Art Contest Deadline Extended to November 16

All participants will be invited to an Art Show to view the masterpieces created in January.

Birthdays in a Bag Service Project
Dear Parents/Guardians:
During our PBIS PRIDE house meetings, students have been learning about making positive choices at Gilles-Sweet.  Making positive choices means we are safe, we take care of our bodies, and we are aware of how our choices affect others.
During the months of November and December, students will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our community by creating "Birthdays in a Bag" for children in need.  Gilles-Sweet has once again partnered with Laura's Home Women's Crisis Center (A branch of The City Mission of Cleveland) to organize this project. Laura's Home Women's Crisis Center provides shelter, food and other resources to women and children in need. At this time there are 32 mothers staying at Laura's Home with a total of 94 children. Currently there are 2,973 children without a permanent home in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
In order to create "Birthdays in a Bag," we are asking for donations of the items below through Wednesday, December 12th.  We assigned items to grade levels in hopes of collecting a more even amount of each item.
  • First grade: Cake mix and cupcake liners
  • Second grade: Frosting and birthday candles
  • Third grade: Forks and crepe paper
  • Fourth grade: Birthday napkins and fun plates (8-12 pack)
  • Fifth grade: "Happy Birthday" banner and medium-sized gift bags (to pack the items in)
Any donation you can make will help our students positively affect others through giving!
Thank you for your continued support!
