Urgent Need for Blood Donors!
American Red Cross Blood Drive on March 28 from 1-6 p.m. at Gilles-Sweet.

The Red Cross has a severe shortage of type O blood donations and an urgent need for all blood types to give now. There is less than a three-day supply, and products are being distributed to hospitals faster than they are coming in.

To schedule an appointment, go to  RedCrossBlood.org   and enter Sponsor Code: Gilles or call  1-800-RED-CROSS.

Students who recruit a presenting donor to their blood drive will receive a Red Cross blanket and a gift card good for one free attraction at Scene75 Entertainment Center Brunswick!

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

Family and Community Engagement (FACE): Special Family Event with Jessie Funk
Join us for a very special event with nationally-recognized guest speaker/author/artist Jessie Funk as she presents on the topic of "Helping Students Succeed Through Emotional Intelligence and Resilience" on Monday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Gilles-Sweet Elementary.

Jesse shares dynamic music, entertaining and visually stories, and real-world tools to help kids build confidence, set boundaries to have healthy relationships, and learn the power of forgiveness. The presentation is designed to build resilience and mental toughness. Educators and parents can expect their students to leave the presentation with motivation to become leaders of their lives.

About Jessie Funk
Jessie Funk holds a leadership certification from the University of Notre Dame, is a certified life-coach, holds a B.S. Degree in Psychology, as well as a M.A. in Theater- emphasizing in how to use the arts as a healing modality for teenagers. Jessie is a former leadership facilitator for Franklin Covey and has also been a professional youth speaker for fifteen years, speaking for high schools and leadership conferences all over the country.

She is a 6-time published author and her passion to help teens led her to start an international non-profit organization called "Ivy Girl Academy," a confidence and leadership training program for teen ladies.

As a professional vocalist she has released five solo albums, has toured 36 states with the Broadway musical "Footloose," has also been hired for hundreds of recording sessions as a studio vocalist including songs heard on TV's "America's Got Talent," ESPN and "The Biggest Loser." Jessie has walked away from three record deals unwilling to sell her soul for fame. She chooses to use her voice to lift and inspire in positive ways.

She also just began a life-long dream of pursuing a doctorate degree. She is earning her license as a clinical social worker and focusing on therapeutic leadership training practices for her dissertation. Jessie's favorite role in life is that of adored wife and mother to two.

If you have any questions about this April 1st or would like any resources on mental health, please let me know.
