February 24, 2020
From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,
It doesn't seem possible, but Lent is upon us!  As a school, we will be providing a variety of opportunities for your children to grow in their faith this Lent.
We will begin with Mass on Ash Wednesday at 8:00am. Please join us if you are able (parish liturgy will also take place at 7:00pm on Wednesday evening).
Other Lenten activities include:
  • Penny Challenge to benefit the Kabuki Research foundation (specific information with be forthcoming). $1.00 out-of-uniform for Kabuki Research will take place on Tuesday, March 24th.
  • Praying the Labyrinth the week of March 30 - April 3rd.  Parents are welcome to come anytime during that week to pray.
  • Blessing Bags: Each class will be assigned an item for the Blessing Bags. We will be putting them together later in Lent and they will be distributed to the homeless.
  • Stations of the Cross on Monday afternoons at 1:45 in church: 3/9, 3/23, 3/30, 4/6.  (Parents are welcome to attend).
  • SERVICE CHALLENGE: We are challenging all families and staff to perform some type of service this Lent. The service is up to YOUR family. Take a picture as your family is serving and send it into school! We will be displaying these pictures on our "We Are Called" wall.
Your child's teacher has begun to talk about Lent in each of their classes. Be sure to ask them what they have learned about this most holy Season!
Tomorrow is Mardi Gras!! Students may wear jeans and their Mardi Gras finery - beads included!

Father/Daughter Dance: ALL grades are encouraged to participate in this year's Father/ Daughter Dance on Friday. March 13 th.  See the flyer for registration details!
Finally, We are sad (yet excited for her) to announce that Mrs. Laurie Straehler has decided to retire after 18 years of aiding here at St. Anthony! Mrs. Straehler will finish out the year so we have lots of time for good byes!!
