Riders, Up!

Congratulations to rising senior Ava Denisco who participated -- with her off-the-track thoroughbred partner, Cash -- in the HITS Horse Shows Vermont Summer Festival over the weekend.

Congratulations also go out to Cate Hale ‘30 (below) who participated in the Over the Moon Farm Summer Horse Show!

Konnichiwa from Tokyo!

Penny the Panther has boldly gone farther than any blue Panther has gone before, traveling half way around the world, thanks to her companions Mr. Franzini and Mr. Licari.

Their travels included a stop at Meiji Jingu, one of Japan’s most popular shrines, located in Shibuya, as well as a visit to the statue of the Akita dog Hachikō, remembered for his unwavering loyalty to his deceased owner.

Art Weekend Showcase Features AHN Teacher

SPOTTED: In Kingston, our very own Ms. Kosek had her art work on display as part of Upstate Art Weekend. She even had a special guest visitor come by to check it out in Ms. Witherspoon!

Donation to Grassroot Givers

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our book swap! Thanks to your efforts, and Ms. Rauch’s reorganization of the Library Learning Commons, Ms. Witherspoon was able to drop off 15 boxes of books to Grassroot Givers, along with some leftover clothing items from our lost and found.

AHN Receives Grant for Security Cameras

AHN is the fortunate recipient of a NYS Nonpublic School Safety Equipment grant, which has allowed the school to purchase security cameras. The cameras, which have been installed in the hallways and common areas, will enable the school to provide an even more safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Faculty Trains on AI Resources

New and current faculty members gathered in July to learn more about AI resources available to them and ways they can use AI to enhance the student experience.

The teachers also discussed AHN's AI policy and looked at ways to educate students about the proper use of AI.

Summer Camps and Sports Clinics

From parasailing, kayaking, and horseback riding, to whitewater rafting, zip-lining and overnight camping, our students were wanting for nothing during our three weeks of Adventure Camp!

On the sports side, led by Coaches Fiore, Gigliello, and Augustine, tennis, basketball, and cheer athletes got to learn from the best in the business at our summer sports clinics! With soccer and volleyball on tap for August, there is still more fun to be had! Follow the link to register.

Summer Arts Camp Registration Available

We've given you a week to recover from all the adventuring, and to get ready for our next camp!

AHN's Summer Arts Camp kicks off Monday, August 4, for our arts, music, and theater lovers! Have you secured your spot yet? If not, head online to ahns.org to join the fun!

Thank you from Institutional Advancement

Kristin Vivian, Director of Institutional Advancement

It is hard to believe another fiscal year has ended. Our goals for 2024-25, as directed by our Strategic Plan, guided our work and helped us achieve success on behalf of the school. Our work would not be possible without the support and generosity of our entire community.

On behalf of Institutional Advancement, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks. Your gifts play a vital role in helping us provide a high-quality education and enriching experiences for every student.

Planned Giving

August is recognized as National Make a Will Month, an annual reminder to create or update one’s will. A will is the cornerstone of an estate plan, allowing individuals to distribute their assets, appoint guardians for minor children or pets, and minimize potential family conflicts; provide reassurance to both the individual and their loved ones that their wishes will be honored; support charitable causes or organizations, creating a lasting legacy that extends beyond one's lifetime.

If you are creating or updating a will or estate plan, please consider including Holy Names in your charitable giving. Your gift, of any size, speaks to your appreciation of the mission and values of the school, all-girls education, and the need to secure the future of the institution.

Project Updates

Completed: a rarely-used storage space has been converted into a multi-level strength training room.

Completed: our current training room is turning into a modern cardio fitness center, with a fresh paint job and brand-new equipment.

In progress: at the 2025 Awards Convocation, the Class of 2025 was proud to announce its donation of $3000 for the purchase of a new scorer's pavilion for the soccer and lacrosse field which is being built in honor of Coach Cherubino.

Save the Date: Cherubino Memorial 5K

Join us on campus on Saturday, October 25 to celebrate the life and legacy of Coach Carlo Cherubino. More information and registration link coming soon.

AHN Golf Classic: Register and/or Become a Sponsor!

Join us for the annual AHN Golf Classic on Monday, October 6, which promises to bring together a vibrant mix of professionals, community leaders, alumnae, parents, students, and friends.

Your support plays a vital role in supporting our athletic programs, which empower students with confidence, resilience, leadership skills, and teamwork — qualities that shape the next generation of women leaders.

Proceeds from the event directly benefit the Booster Club as well as the 1884 Fund, which fuels student enrichment, enhances our facilities, and sustains the excellence of our all-girls education.
