Family Tree

Mrs. Eller’s middle school classes are learning about the “Jesse Tree.”

The tree, named after King David’s father, is a way of preparing for Advent by journeying through the stories on Jesus’ family tree. Students crafted ornaments representing each story, from creation to Jesus’ birth.

Isaiah 11:1: “A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.”

Lessons in AI

Thank you to Trisha McLean (mom of Reagan ‘31), for speaking with technology and digital literacy classes about generative AI, its uses, and how to properly navigate it.

After each lesson, students were able to break off into groups and discuss various scenarios to determine when to use, or not to use AI.

Congrats to the varsity basketball squad on winning its home opener! Maggie Volmer led the way with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Ruby Field added 12 points, followed by Jeniyah Wood with 11 points/7 assists/6 rebounds/5 steals. Julia Viglucci added 9 points.

Congratulations to sixth-grader Alice C. and her Nova Novice synchronized skating team for winning the Provincial Championships (equivalent to State Championships in the U.S.) over the weekend.

The team now qualifies for the Nationals which will be held in March in Waterloo, Ontario. Alice is the youngest member of the team, which is comprised of mostly ninth- and 10th-graders. Way to go!
