This Week at AHN

Sounds of the Season, Bell Tower Lighting, Festival of Wreaths

AHN officially kicked off the holiday season in style with the annual Christmas Concert featuring the Middle School Chorus and High School Ensemble treating attendees to some holiday classics, as well as a violin solo performance from Sophie Potvin '28. Click the image to visit our YouTube Page and watch the performances.

Following the concert, attendees were invited to stay for the traditional Lighting of the Bell Tower.

Each sponsored light on the tower shines brightly in honor and/or in memory of a special family member or friend, whose names were read aloud.

Prior to the festivities, a pre-concert gathering sponsored by Friends of the Arts was held in The Commons as well as the the annual Festival of Wreaths in the senior hallway.

More than a dozen handmade wreaths from students, faculty, and staff were raffled off. The event was sponsored by AHN's Youth Ministry.

Special Delivery

Congratulations to seniors Mia Guiry and Kayla Butler on completing their service project, collecting approximately 300 toys to donate to St. Catherine's Center for Children.

Students also wrapped the items this week, which were picked up Friday morning by Michele Puleo O’Hare ‘78 P’12. Thank you to all who helped with this year’s giving tree!

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

Thank you to Fr. Tom Fallati for celebrating the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception with us Monday afternoon, and congratulations to our newly-commissioned Eucharistic ministers, Shaya and Rachael Gerber!

Honoring Mother Marie-Rose

The remains of Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher are in the Chapel dedicated to her at the Co-Cathedral of Saint Antoine de Padoue in Longueuil. Since her beatification by Pope John Paul II on May 23, 1982, her presence has attracted many people, including Dr. Kilbridge, who visited the chapel over the weekend.

Pilgrims draw close to her rose-colored marble tomb which lies under the altar, taking time to pray quietly in the serenity of the surroundings.

Decking the Halls

Consider the halls completely decked. The high schoolers kicked things off with painting the windows in The Commons, and now the middle schoolers have wrapped their doors.

On Tuesday grades 6-9 competed for bragging rights as they put their creativity on full display, decorating their respective classroom doors with winter/holiday themes. The winner was "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth."

Driving Safety

Thank you to Troopers Rothwein and Colach, who, along with retired Sgt. Amy Anderson ‘93, mother of Sophia ‘24 and Samantha Malorgio ‘26, gave an interactive presentation on the dangers of impaired driving to juniors and seniors on Tuesday.

The presentation was sponsored by SADD.

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

Thank to AHN's Parents Association for sponsoring a field trip for the Dance Ensemble to see The Nutcracker at Proctors Theater in Schenectady on Friday!

Curtains Draw on "Antigone"

“All men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course is wrong, and repairs the evil.”

Didn't have a chance to catch this year's drama production, “Antigone” at the Campus Arts Center? We've got you covered! Just click the link to watch via our YouTube page! Congratulations to the cast and crew led by Ms. Donnaruma and Miss Reagan.
