State Includes Catholic School Funding in Budget Proposal | |
|
Your voices have been heard.
Last week, the New York State Catholic Conference Issued an "action alert," requesting write-in requests to Governor Kathy Hocul to include funding in her state budget proposal for the Nonpublic School Aid program.
The alert prompted than 4,000 emails to fully fund the program, which obliges the state to to fully reimburse nonpublic schools for costs associated with mandated services like attendance, and administering and scoring state tests.
Governor Hochul is now proposing sufficient funds to not only restore the four percent cut from last year, but to ensure full reimbursement this coming year.

Bring a copy of this digital flyer with your order. 20% of proceeds from sales during that time will be donated.

Thanks to Ellen Gelting for bringing in "future guide dog" Tanya to visit with students on Tuesday.
Tanya is training with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a nonprofit organization which provides guide dogs to people with vision loss. With students preparing for and taking exams to close out the semester, Tanya was welcomed with open arms and belly rubs.
A thank you also to Lori Hotaling, mother of Ryleigh '24, who brought in her dog, Ranger, to visit with students on Friday.
