St. Catherine's Gives Thanks
|
St. Catherine's Center for Children is giving thanks to the Holy Names Community for supporting the organization this year as part of AHN's Christmas Community Service Project.
"Your support and kindness have a tremendous impact on the lives of those we serve. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!"
90 gifts in all were collected. Thank you to Ms. Moran (pictured) for organizing.

AHN's French Club commemorated the Epiphanie (Epiphany) this week, recognizing the 12-day journey of the three wise men to see the newborn baby Jesus.
On this day, a traditional "galette des rois" is shared -- a yeast-baked cake topped with candied fruits and sugar. Inside the cake a feve (a lima bean) is hidden. If your slice has the feve, you are queen for the day and are crowned with a gold paper crown. All hail, Queen Annabelle!

Epiphany Reminder of Many Gifts
|
As we consider tomorrow’s Feast of the Epiphany, let us rejoice in the light of divine revelation that guided the Magi to the humble manger. We celebrate not only the manifestation of the Christ child to the world but also the profound wisdom and grace this revelation brings to our lives.
May this sacred occasion be a reminder of the transformative power of seeking and recognizing the presence of God in unexpected places.

“Oh my gosh, I got such a surprise when I heard it was on there, so I surprised coach Gigs [Steve Gigliello] and went to the Catholic Central game to see it and catch up with him." - Deja Deas '16, on seeing herself on the Carlo Cherubino Athletic Hall of Fame. She talked more about the honor to the Times Union.
Deja wasn't the only Holy Names alumna home for the holidays.
During halftime of the varsity basketball game versus Burnt Hills, all former players in attendance were honored.

Scholarship Spotlight: Mary Anne Vigliante Endowed Scholarship
|
The Mary Anne Vigliante Endowed Scholarship of Educational Excellence was established in 2019 to honor Ms. Vigliante's dedication to the school as its former Head of School, Principal, Teacher, and an alumna.
The purpose of the Fund is to support a scholarship for a student attending Academy of the Holy Names who is the daughter of an alumna. This scholarship makes it possible for a student to attend who might not otherwise be able to do so. We thank Ms. Vigliante for her legacy of contributions to Holy Names which continue to give through this scholarship.
