Senior Retreat
Thanks to Camp Pinnacle for hosting our senior retreat, led by Ms. Moran, Mrs. McSparron, and Ms. Witherspoon!
Students focused on finishing the semester strong and transitioning to college, as well as building their relationship with God by creating a faith that “sticks.”
They also learned about the “Three P’s”: Perseverance, Presence, and Purpose.

Humble Pi
Pi Day, the an annual commemoration of the mathematical constant π, was on Sunday, but the celebrations lasted all week courtesy of our Math Department. Students were able to take part in various activities outside The Commons, culminating with actual (cream) pies being slammed into the faces of our Math teachers, who took it all in stride.
Students made donations to be entered into a raffle so they could pie their favorite teacher, and proceeds from the raffle will go toward t-shirts for the Masterminds team.

Eric Martell Succeeds Steve Seymour
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Martell as successor to outgoing Athletic Director Steve Seymour, who has decided to step down in order to prepare for a move. He says he is deeply grateful for having had the opportunity to serve and be part of such a dedicated community.
Mr. Martell comes to Holy Names with extensive experience in competitive athletics at the middle and high school levels, private school leadership, and athletics connections across the greater Albany area. He formerly served as varsity swim coach at Emma Willard and CBA-Troy-Columbia, as well as Assistant Head Swim Coach at Troy-Averill Park.
Mr. Martell says, “I’ve felt the magic of independent schools - the culture, mission, academic freedom, and the immense space for individual growth. As an experienced educator and administrator as well as a successful head coach for several independent schools, I feel very confident I will fulfill AHN’s high expectations as its next Athletic Director.”

Athletes Honored
Congratulations to Maggie Volmer (1st Team), Jeniyah Wood (2nd Team), and Julia Viglucci (3rd Team) for being named 2025-26 Colonial Council All-Stars for women's basketball!
Congratulations also go out to to senior Cassie Bellinger (seen with dad, Sean), who was honored at the Section II Scholar Athlete brunch.
Student athletes are recognized for their contributions in academics, the community, and in basketball.
