1937-2026
It is with great sadness AHN joins in mourning the passing of David R. McGuire, former Interim Division Head (2016) here at Academy of the Holy Names. He is also the father of Director of College Counseling Annemarie McGarry '86 P'25, and grandfather of Claire '25.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the family, as well as the educational communities which he served faithfully throughout his career.

Celebrating Women's History
This week Director of Enrollment Management Kendra Astemborski ‘07 and Senior Class President Ella ‘26 represented Academy of the Holy Names at the Women's History Month Reception hosted by Governor Kathy Hochul at the New York State Executive Mansion.
The event highlighted the achievements, leadership and impact of women across the state. It was an inspirational day that celebrated the mission of empowering girls and women!

Junior Recognized for Leadership
Congratulations to junior Maeve O'Brien who was honored by Sen. Patricia Fahy at this year's New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Awards on Friday.
The program awards outstanding students who excel academically and through leadership in extracurricular and volunteer activities.
Maeve, accompanied to the event by Principal Taranto, was nominated for her leadership in Student Council and Junior Ladies of Charity.

Coming Full Circle
Student leaders spent all day Wednesday training with Pat Fish from Sweethearts and Heroes so they could help facilitate positive change in AHN's culture..
A follow-up to an assembly from earlier in the year, the training was to empower students, called “Circle Weavers,” to guide group discussions that foster empathy, develop essential human skills, encourage perspective-taking, and create supportive peer networks.

Anastasia Debuts at Campus Arts Center
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Anastasia, which debuted Thursday evening at the Campus Arts Center. Don't worry if you missed out. You still have three more opportunities to see the performance: Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.

Learning fun with dominoes! Mrs. Rose’s classes this week set up miniature Rube Goldberg experiments with dominoes to see which was most effective at knocking balls into baskets.
