Open House Welcomes Families

Thank you to everyone who made our Open House a success!

We couldn't have done it without the efforts of our student ambassadors, faculty, staff, coaches, parents, and alumnae volunteers who were on hand to showcase the best of AHN.

Guests were treated to campus tours, as well as presentations from Student Council President Ella Schoenborn '26 and alumna Sharon Greene '15, who is directing our spring musical Anastasia, and provided attendees a sneak preview with a scene featuring Rylee Apicelli and Audrey Hodgdon.

In the gym, the cheer squad performed its competition routine for families, and Penny the Panther was on hand to greet her fans.

AHN Dedicates Day to Service

Academy of the Holy Names took a break from academics for a day on Thursday, as students, faculty and staff spent the day volunteering their time at more than 20 different service organizations around the Capital District.

The day consisted of various service projects, ranging from preparing meals at the Sr. Maureen Joyce Soup Kitchen to sorting and organizing donations at St. Catherine’s Center for Children, and creating raffle baskets for Night out for You.   

Thank you to Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) and Brown Transportation who assisted with transportation, the latter courtesy of a grant provided by The Rev. Kenneth J. Doyle Catholic Education Fund. 

Mock Trial Team Earns Victory

Congratulations to the Mock Trial team for defeating Voorheesville in its first competition. The students brought their “A” game and successfully defended their client, bringing strong arguments and outmaneuvering the prosecution's claims.

Their next competition will be on March 24 against Albany High School, and this time they will play the role of the prosecution. 

A special thank you to team leaders and Coaches Mr. Franzini, Ms. Schwartz, Support Magistrate Jen Corona '88 P'26 '29, and Hon. Judge Ryan McAllister P'28, as well as Hon. Judge Marisa Franchini of Albany City Court.

Basketball Heads to Championship; Joyce Sets Record

Congratulations to the varsity basketball team, which is headed to the Section II, Class A Championship Game vs Albany Academy THIS Sunday, March 8 at 1 p.m. The team was also named "Team of the Week" by the Albany Times Union. Tickets for the game are available online only via the link provided below.

Congratulations also go out to Maeve Joyce for setting the Indoor Track school record in the 3000m, besting the previous mark by more than two seconds!

Joyce set the mark while placing 1st in the event during competition at CBA last week.
