PantherVision Team, Journalism Class Visit Spectrum News

Ahead of the planned launch of PantherVision, members of the team — led by Mr. P and Miss Hannafin — along with Ms. Leonard’s Journalism class, paid a visit to Spectrum News 1 Capital Region. Thanks to Managing Director Nick Cowdry and Anchor/Reporter Camille DeLongis for taking the time to show our students the ins-and-outs of putting together a professional broadcast.

This Week at AHN

Thanks to Mrs. Eller, the Middle School Student Council, and our half-dozen chaperones for making this year's spring fling a night to remember!

You can view the full gallery on AHNS.org.

AHN was on the move in Naples, Florida over the weekend.

Thank you to the Murray family (John, Kelly '77, and Mary Kate '12) for opening their home for an alumnae gathering, which included an appearance from Dr. Kilbridge and Kristin Vivian, Director of Institutional Advancement.

To commemorate Women's History Month, and in particular, International Women's Day on March 8, our students attended a special prayer service to learn about the history of the day.

They also embraced this year's theme of "inspire inclusion" and struck a pose to share the love in front of our decorated bulletin board.

Students Invited to Healthcare Workshop

Congratulations to Rylee Apicelli, Sophie Wilson, Louisa Pero, and Reagan Dunham, who have been selected to participate the Future of Healthcare workshop at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on March 15.

Approximately 150 students in grades 9–11 from nearly 45 public and private schools were recommended by school administrators for to their educational achievement and commitment, with expressed interest in science, math, or healthcare.

Students Attend Youth Summit

Members of S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) and Peer Leaders attended Northeastern Community Action Partnership's 6th Annual Youth Summit at the Albany Capital Center.

The event included motivational speakers and panel discussions on topics ranging from the impact of substance use disorders, mental health advocacy, community resources, and the importance of making healthy choices.

The group was led by Dean of Student Life Ms. Witherspoon and Mrs. Pentak.

The pair also bumped into Meg Rento ‘17, a Public Health Educator for Rensselaer County Health Department.

AHN Hosts Spring Open House

Thank you to everyone who made our Spring Open House such a smashing success! We enjoyed a 32% increase in attendance compared to last March.

We couldn't have done it without the efforts of our student ambassadors, faculty, staff, coaches, parents, and alumnae volunteers who were on hand to showcase the best of AHN.

Guests were treated to campus tours, which included our new PantherVision studio, as well as presentations from senior Lexie Cristalli, and alumna Andrea Thomas '21.
