30th Annual Science Symposium

The 30th Annual Holy Names Science Research Symposium was held Thursday, led by Mr. Licari.

It was an opportunity for students to present the results of a three-year program in which they choose the area to focus their research.

These ranged from the testing of a renewable microgrid to see if it can generate electricity and reduce potential carbon emissions to measuring the effects of menopause and a high fat diet with the risks of developing Alzheimer's Disease.

Six students in all presented, including seniors Shaya Gerber and Cece Zyskowski, and juniors Lola Ogunjana, Iyanna Nelson-Ventour, Claire Kapczynski, and Mary Keegan.

AHN Celebrates Spring Fest

AHN's annual SpringFest sprung on Tuesday! Thanks to our friends at Student Styles for the shirts, designed by senior Ashley, and Stewart's Shops for the ice cream party in The Commons!

Spring Pep Rally

It was an entertaining spring Pep Rally on Friday, as students, faculty, and staff dressed up according to various television-related themes:

• Seniors: Netflix/Stranger Things
• Juniors: Disney
• Sophomores: Nickelodeon
• Ninth Grade: Cartoon Network
• Middle School: PBS Kids 
• Teachers: Cooking shows or spirit wear

A special thank you to AHN's Parent Association for supplying an ice cream truck during lunch periods, where lawn games were made available for play!

Many Hands Make Light Work

An impromptu service opportunity drew a slew of student volunteers Thursday morning in The Commons.

Students put Curtis Lumber Company stickers on “hard” hats for The Junior League of Albany’s annual Touch-A-Truck event scheduled for Saturday morning, 5/2 at 9:00 a.m. at BBL Construction Services in Albany.

The event offers kids of all ages a hands‑on experience with trucks of all sizes.

Art Show Preparations

It is a busy week in the Art room!

Ms. Kosek's AP students (Maddie and Maeve, with help from Lola and Kayla) are working hard finishing up their portfolios to be displayed at next Thursday's art show (here on campus at 4 p.m.). 

Sophomores McKinley, Juliana, and Julie, seen proudly showing off their new painting smocks in their Studio 2 class, are working on large paintings for the show.

Also, a shoutout to sophomore Emma, whose mixed-media piece will be on display during Congressman Tonko's 2026 Congressional Art Competition tonight at Union College. 

Track Team Impresses at Meet

Congratulations to the outdoor track team on its success at Schalmont on Tuesday!



Tara Brady, Georgia Boggs, and Ana Guerra each took home first place finishes in their respective events.

Additionally, personal best scores were achieved by Melanie Frias, Rosalie Patton, Tara Brady, Capri Bloomfield, and Cherish Kreyoh!
