Special Graduation Section

Congratulations, Class of 2025!

With some pomp, and a little circumstance, we bade a fond "see you later to the Class of 2025 with the 136th Commencement Exercises Friday morning.

The invocation was given by Very Rev. Fr. Bob Longobucco followed by the opening address from Senior Class President Morgan Brewer and keynote address from Donna Galanti '86. After the conferring of diplomas and address to seniors by Principal Taranto, Student Council President Daniella Cassaro Oberting delivered the closing address.

Congratulations to the nearly 50 graduates!

Alumnae Induction Ceremony

The Class of 2025 has completed the next step on its journey.

The Senior Alumnae Induction Ceremony was held on Tuesday to welcome its newest members.

Alumnae from various class years were in attendance to bestow students with the ceremonial bells. Friends and family members were also on hand for the blessing of the graduates.

A special thank you to Partner in Education Paige DeSorbo '10 for delivering this year's Keynote Address.

At the ceremony, the senior class was proud to announce its donation of $3000 for the purchase of a new scorer's table for the soccer field which will be erected in honor of the late Coach Carlo Cherubino.

Baccalaureate Mass

Thank you to the ever-present and supportive Fr. Bob Longobucco for presiding over this year's Baccalaureate Mass at Mater Christi Parish! You can view the entire album here.

Awards Convocation

Congratulations to all award recipients at this year's Awards Convocation. 100% of the graduating class has received merit-based scholarships to institutions of higher learning.

Also part of Thursday's ceremony was the official U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Appointment of senior Sofia Dohr, and the U.S. Naval Academy Blue and Gold Officer Appointment of senior Morgan Brewer.

Senior Daniella Cassaro Oberting received an honorary award as AHN's last "lifer" having completed K-12 at Holy Names.

Thursday's ceremony also observed the traditional "moving up" exercise of grade levels, and the presentation of Profile, AHN's high school yearbook, which was dedicated by yearbook staff to Mr. Franzini for his years of unwavering enthusiasm and support not only for his classes, but for student organizations and teams.

We are proud to welcome you as our newest alumnae into the vast community of women who have graduated from this amazing institution.

We are living in a special time. Witnesses to the first modern soon-to-be Saint of the 21st century. The young man—Carlo Acutis. A peer of our newest alumnae and role model for us all.

This Week at AHN

Students Honored for Writing

Results from the 2025 National Council of Teachers of English Achievement Awards in Writing Contest are in, and we are proud to announce two of our students have received the following distinctions for their submissions:

Cece Zyskowski: Excellent

Shaya Gerber: Superior

This year, schools nominated 680 students to participate in the Achievement Awards in Writing Program. National judges evaluated each piece of writing for expression of ideas, language use, and unique perspective and voice.

Senior's Service Project Benefits Ronald McDonald House

Gianna Savoca chose RMHC of the Capital Region as the grateful beneficiary of her Senior Service Project when she hosted a Powder Puff Flag Football game and raised $1,500 for "The House That Love Built!" Way to go, Gianna!

Honoring Mother Marie-Rose

On this day in 1982, Mother Marie-Rose, foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM), was beatified in Rome by John Paul II, and was given the name Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher.

In this way, the Church acknowledged her as a woman totally fulfilled in God. Today, we delight in praying to her with joy and thanksgiving.

Graduation is upon us at Holy Names, and we are reflecting on the countless moments of growth, faith, and achievement our seniors have experienced during their time at AHN.

With your continued support, Holy Names has provided a nurturing environment where our young women have been able to explore their potential, embrace their faith, and lead with compassion and confidence.

As we close out this school year, we ask for your help in making a lasting impact on the next generation of women leaders with a gift to the 1884 Fund.

Whether through a one-time gift or a recurring monthly contribution, your donation will help us continue to provide an exceptional education rooted in faith and excellence.
