Congratulations, Class of 2024

With some pomp, and a little circumstance, we bade a fond "see you later to the Class of 2024 with the 135th Commencement Exercises Friday morning.

The invocation was given by the Most Rev. Edward B. Scharfenberger, DD, followed by the opening address from senior Lexie Cristalli and keynote address from Ann Marie Lizzi '87. After the conferring of diplomas and address to seniors by Principal Taranto, senior Meredith Brown delivered the closing address.

Congratulations to the 36 graduates!

Annual Awards Convocation Honors Academic Excellence

Congratulations to all award recipients at this year's Awards Convocation. 100% of the graduating class has received merit-based scholarships to institutions of higher learning.

Thursday's ceremony also observed the traditional "moving up" exercise of grade levels, and the presentation of Profile, AHN's high school yearbook, which was dedicated by yearbook staff to Ms. Witherspoon for her years of service to AHN. Follow the link for the complete list of awards:

Alumnae Induction Ceremony Comes with All the Bells and Whistles

We could not have asked for a better day for our Alumnae Induction Ceremony on Tuesday. Congratulations to the Class of 2024, and thank you to all alumnae and family in attendance who came for the blessing of the graduates and bestowing of the bells.

This year's class also announced its gift: $1989 to purchase an air conditioner for our beloved kitchen staff, Marcesco Foods.

This Week at AHN

Our sincere thanks to Fr. Sean O'Brien, OFM for officiating this year's Baccalaureate Mass. Visit our homepage, AHNS.org, and click "gallery" to view the full album.

The senior class took some time earlier this week in The Commons to decorate their graduation caps, with many choosing to represent the college or university which they will be attending in the fall.

This year's Senior Night was held at Albany Country Club. Students, faculty and staff were able to celebrate and send the Class of 2024 off in style.

A special service was held on Monday in honor of our seniors. Senior yearbook quotes were read, and each received gifts from their Grade 9 sisters, chocolates from Grade 10 and hand painted notecards from Grade 11.

Thank you to Karen Sanford, mom of Riley ‘28, who was a special guest speaker in Mrs. Rose’s Earth Science class Thursday. Karen is a geologist working with New York State Department of Transportation and took time to inform students about potential careers for women interested in geology and how her work impacts large scale projects across the state, including bridge and tunnel construction.

Mental Health Awareness month continued this week with our middle and high school students, under the guidance of School Counselor Mrs. Jacob-Zysman, making mindfulness bracelets with words of encouragement and affirmation.
