Seniors Graduating at the Head of Their Class
By Michele Musto, Principal
In a few days, we will be celebrating the unofficial start of summer as Memorial Day arrives. Families will hold traditional BBQ’s, attend parades to honor members of our armed services who sacrificed their lives for our country, and enjoy each other’s company.
Traditionally, during my 32 years at Holy Names, seniors have graduated on Memorial Day weekend. Most recently the graduation was moved from Sunday of Memorial Day weekend to Friday. We, the Holy Names family celebrate the traditions of our “unofficial” conclusion of the school year. Seniors are honored at Senior Night, inducted into the Alumnae Association, recognized for their academic achievement at Awards Convocation, participated in a celebration of faith at Baccalaureate, all culminating in graduation. While the components are the same each year, each event assumes the personality of the class, making each celebration personal and unique.

On a gorgeous Friday morning, Academy of the Holy Names conferred diplomas upon the Class of 2023, ending one chapter in their young lives, and ushering them into the start of a new one.
The 134th Annual Commencement Exercises were presided over by the Most Reverend Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger, D.D., who gave the invocation. Principal Musto, who is retiring after 32 years of dedicated service, provided the proclamation of honors as well as the address to the class, leaving them with some parting pearls of wisdom.
Morgan Hannafin and Allie Lasch provided remarks on behalf of the departing senior class.

Alumnae Induction Ceremony
Thank you to all AHN alumnae (ranging from the Class of '51 and beyond!) who came out on a gorgeous Tuesday morning to the Alumnae Induction Ceremony which welcomed in its newest members, the Class of 2023.
Each graduating senior was blessed, and received a bell as a symbol of their induction. As a special surprise, Mrs. Musto was given one of her own as a gift from the class!
The senior class also gave another gift: as the first class in recent memory to reach 100% donations for this year's #ALLINFORAHN fundraiser, the class presented Dr. Kilbridge with a check for the amount raised: $767.59 for the school.

A special thank you to Fr. Sean O'Brien, O.F.M., and The Parish of Mater Christi for hosting this year's Baccalaureate Mass on Sunday for our graduating senior class. It was an honor to worship together with you and family, friends, faculty, and staff.

Congratulations to all students who were recognized at this year's annual Awards Convocation.
The annual ceremony honored seniors, juniors, eighth graders and others who have gone above and beyond inside and outside of the classroom.
This year's program also featured the dedication of the 2022-23 Yearbook, which to her surprise, was dedicated in honor of Mrs. Musto.
Rounding out the morning was the traditional "moving up" of classes, where each class literally and figuratively moved up a level to signify the completion of another school year.
