Grade Eight Visits Nation's Capital

Students in grade eight had an eventful trip to Washington D.C. over the weekend.

The group was able to visit the Capitol building, take a monument walking tour, including a stop at the Lincoln, World War II, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Washington Memorials. They also toured the International Spy Museum, the National Zoo, the Holocaust Museum, the National Archives, the Basilica of the National Shrine, Arlington National Cemetery, the White House, the Smithsonian Museum, and Fords Theater.

The event benefits the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital, which supports programs, advanced technology, staffing, research, and more.

Congratulations to JV lacrosse and softball for winning in front of the home crowds on Thursday. JV lacrosse topped Hoosick Falls 23-12 and JV softball was victorious over Cobleskill 7-1.

You can register now for the Spring Sports Banquet, which is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5 at 5:45 p.m. at The Century House in Latham. Please RSVP by Monday, May 20.

AHN hosted a special naturalization ceremony Friday morning. 31 candidates officially became United States Citizens in front of the student body.

Rep. Paul Tonko, State Sen. Neil Breslin, State Asm. Patricia Fahy, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, and a representative for Albany County Executive Dan McCoy were in attendance for the event.

New families are invited to attend a welcome reception next Friday, May 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Riley Auditorium.

All attendees are encouraged to stay on campus following their respective events to attend AHN's annual Art Show.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Thursday night's Spring Concert has been RESCHEDULED to MONDAY, MAY 13 at 7 p.m.

Another admissions testing opportunity has been made available for prospective students.

The exam serves as a scholarship qualifying exam and assists with student placement. High scoring students can earn between 1/4 and 1/2 tuition awards.



The upcoming exam is scheduled for Sunday, May 19. Arrival time is 12:15 p.m.

The June SAT will be here before you know it, and AHN's College Counseling Office will be offering several opportunities for SAT preparation. Classes with state-certified teachers will be held on the following dates from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.:
