Chief Sweethearts Correspondent Vivi caught up with Tom and Rick after Thursday’s assembly to speak more in depth about their message of H.O.P.E. | |
Sweethearts & Heroes
Thank you to Tom Murphy & Sgt. Rick Yarosh, of Sweethearts and Heroes, for leading a special assembly followed by breakout sessions with our students.
Sweethearts & Heroes aims to prevent hopelessness, bullying, and suicide by providing dynamic, inspiring content that centers on the human interaction skills necessary for schools and other organizations to change all aspects of their culture — skills such as empathy, compassion, and teamwork.
The Albany County Legislature, in conjunction with the Albany County Department of Mental Health, Albany County Department of Children, Youth and Families and the Albany County Executive’s Office made available $100,000 in funding to support anti-bullying and youth violence prevention programming.

Congratulations to the members of the Class of 2027, who received their class rings from their ring sisters!
The rings bear the school seal, along with the motto Esse Quam Videri and symbolize the class accepting the call of leadership and responsibility.
More photos will be available soon in our online gallery at ahns.org.

Schoenborn Honored for Service
Congratulations to Ella Schoenborn ’26, honored Wednesday evening with the “Why I Care” Award from Broadview Federal Credit Union.
Broadview’s most prestigious honor, the award is presented quarterly to one employee and one member for their community service activities, non-profit involvement, and how they are inspiring others to join in.
With the award came a $1000 donation to a non-profit of her choice, for which Schoenborn selected “The Carlo Cherubino Memorial Fund.”
Schoenborn founded “ProjectElla” in 2018 to feed the hungry when she was just nine-years-old.
ProjectElla has since distributed thousands of meals and hundreds of thousands of food pantry items to organizations in need throughout the Capital Region.
