Dear Friends,
What a joy it was to welcome so many of our alumnae back to campus for Alumnae Reunion Weekend! From the Class of 1957 to the Class of 2020, generations of Holy Names women gathered to share stories, laughter, and the kind of connection that only grows stronger with time. Seeing friendships renewed and bonds across the years reminded me just how special our community truly is...
As I reflect on the weekend, I am filled with gratitude—not only for the legacy of those who came before us, but also for the ways we continue to invest in the young women entrusted to us today. The strong foundation that allows our students to flourish, both here and beyond Holy Names, is made possible through the generosity of our community.

Senior Service Project
Thank you to all who showed up to support senior Mary Burke (not pictured) and her senior service project at the Wine & Dine for the Dominican Republic at St. Pius X on Thursday.
Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting children with special needs at the Casa Santa Ana Orphanage.

Lesson in Civics
Thank you to former AHN teacher Maureen Bernstein P'12, of the non-partisan League of Women Voters for returning to speak with our Government classes.
Under New York State Law, schools are committed to fostering civic engagement by ensuring students have the necessary resources and knowledge to participate in the democratic process before they graduate.
On Monday, students were able to learn more about the voter registration process, including beginning the process of registering. Those under 18 are allowed to pre-register.
Students were encouraged to take the registration forms home to discuss with their parents any topics they may not have felt comfortable tackling in a school setting. Once completed, they can then mail in the forms themselves or bring them back to school and Mrs. Bernstein will deliver them to the Board of Elections.

Students Learn About Polling
Travis Brodbeck, Associate Director of Data Management at the Siena Research Institute presented to Mr. Zaccardo’s Statistics class about polling on Monday.
He explained to students how Siena collect data, how they present the findings, and their interpretation of the data.
Additional topics covered included how to keep polls unbiased, how they are administered, and what some of the challenges are.

Seniors Honored in Tennis, Golf
It was a two-for Tuesday as we celebrated Senior Night in tennis and golf!
Congratulations to Mary, Meara, Chloe, (Molly), and Mia! The tennis team was able to emerge victorious, topping Emma Willard 4-3.
The Cross Country team also won on Tuesday, topping La Salle at its dual meet.
We also want to give a shoutout to our fleet-footed sixth-graders, who ran their first race in their Friendship League on Wednesday! Alecia finished 4th, Addison 7th, and Abby 14th. They all came out smiling, and the Cross Country team can’t wait until next year when these three will get to run competitively.

Attendance is FREE. Proceeds from concessions and raffles will support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

AHN will be offering its next admissions scholarship opportunity on Saturday, November 15.
The exam serves as a scholarship qualifying exam as well as assisting with student placement. Girls should arrive by 8:15 a.m. to sign in.
There is no fee for the exam and no specific requirements in preparing; however, it is important to get a good night’s sleep.
