Congratulations to Riley Schmitz, who made it to the second round of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Girls Tennis State Championships! With her first-round win, she moved into the top 16 among 6,000 varsity tennis players in New York State.
Your Colonial Council Champion Varsity Volleyball team -- undefeated in league play during the regular season -- took three of four sets to bring home the win in its Sectional Quarterfinal matchup at home versus Lansingburgh. Next up: Averill Park on Wednesday.
On tap for Friday, Cross Country participates in the Colonial Council Championships, and it's Senior Night for our Cheer team at CBA.
A reminder: winter sports (basketball, cheer, indoor track) start November 13. Sign-ups are available on myAHN.

Sophomores Honored at Ceremony | |
|
For more than 30 years, Academy of the Holy Names has honored its sophomores with a special ceremony. For 25 years, those students have received a special symbol to commemorate the day.
This week the class of 2026 received pendants representing their connection to their classmates and AHN.
The ceremony was followed by a day-long retreat in the Campus Arts Center.

Month of Simple Giving
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) are now collecting personal items for Grassroot Givers' Month of Simple Giving.
The group is collecting full-size shampoo, full-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant (men and women), 2-packs of razors, and bars of soap. These items will be assembled into kits and provided to men and women leaving the shelter or those on a fixed income. Boxes have been placed in the front lobby by SADD's bulletin board and the collection will run until November 14. The combined classes that bring in the most items will receive a dress down day!
