Band Update
Due to overall enrollment in band, practice for all students will now be on Thursday afternoons from 3:15-4:15 effective Monday, September 30, 2019. 
Students will need to bring their instrument on the day they have study hall and on Thursday's.  
If your K - 2 student is interested in Soccer Shots, please indicate which day you prefer!

Student Dress Down Days
Student's may dress down on the
FIRST Thursday of each month!

Fee: $5 Per Student or $10 Per Family
**Due by Tuesday each week**
*You may pay for the entire year if you wish.
$35 for a single student, $70 for the family.

Dress Down Days will be:
Oct. 3 | Nov. 7 | Dec. 5
Jan. 9 | Feb. 6 | Mar. 5 | Apr. 2
Read Your Way to the Big Game!
Your child’s ability to read is a critical predictor of educational and lifelong success. Help establish a foundation of success for your child and support the University of South Carolina & Clemson University championship traditions by participating in the South Carolina Department of Education’s 2019 Read Your Way to the Big Game contest.  

All Kindergarten - 8th grade students who read six books will qualify to win tickets to the Palmetto Bowl on November 30th!! Once students have completed their readings, they should turn in the list of books read to their teacher. Winners will receive four tickets and pre-game sideline passes to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game.

Active Gamecock Logs
Week 2 of the Active Gamecock Logs starts this Monday. Please continue to be active and to fill in your log!
These are due back to Coach Cotney on Monday October 7th or Tuesday October 8th to qualify for free USC mens and womens basketball tickets.
PE Updates: Archery
Archery will start for all students 3rd through 8th graders September 30.

If students have a Genesis Original bow they may bring it to use and leave it in the gym on the morning of their PE day or Study Hall day and it will stay with Coach Cotney until the end of the day.
Possible Blood Drive
GREEN Midlands would like to host a Blood Drive this school year.
The Red Cross would like to know if we have enough interest for this event.

Scholastic Book Fair
The first book fair of the year is coming up the week of October 14th-18th.

Veterans Day Assembly
We would like to provide a special program to our student's on Veterans Day. If you know a Veteran who has a unique story to share and would like to speak to the students, please email us by clicking here!

International Festival
Save the date for the International Festival on Thursday, November 14th from 5pm-7pm! This is a fun, family oriented event to learn about the different countries and cultures in our school and around the world.

GREEN Midlands is so excited to have partnered with Harvest Hope Food Bank for a Food Drive for the entire month of October.

Miss Hibbard is working with the classes to decorate their grade's box to help get the students involved now!

Students may bring in donations during drop off and pick up. Stay tuned for more details.

We will run a grade level competition to see which grade can help acquire the most donations during the Food Drive and the winning grade will win an ice cream party with Mr. Adams!
