Gobble Jog Goes Virtual For
No-Hunger No-vember Race
The Gobble Jog is MUST Ministries' #1 fundraising event of the year and they have been working diligently to find ways to continue the annual Thanksgiving morning tradition. However, due to restrictions on public gatherings, the Marietta Daily Journal Gobble Jog will be a virtual race.
At the same time, MUST Ministries is experiencing the greatest food need in its 49-year history. Please sign up to run the Marietta Daily Journal Gobble Jog virtually and post your time or donate money that will provide food for your neighbors in need.
Runners and walkers choose between a 10K, 5K, 1K, Tot Trot (50 yards) or phantom runner and then run their own race anytime between November 1-26. The race cost is $35 and includes a color-wash, long-sleeved t-shirt that will be mailed after Thanksgiving.
Once registered, runners can also help raise money by letting family, friends and co-workers know the following three ways they can donate:
  1. Running in honor or memory of a loved one
  2. Donate a dollar to match each date of November (totaling $351)
  3. 26 Days of Thanks - post what you are thankful for on social media each day and raise money in thankfulness
All proceeds will go to provide food for the local community.
If you have questions about your registration, please click here to email us.

Bishop Urges Prayer & Fasting
During This Critical 40 Day Period
Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson invites North Georgia United Methodists to join the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference for 40 days of prayer and weekly fasting.
They began October 18, but you are invited to join in at any time. Every day, you are invited to enter into the offices of prayer, beginning the day with Wesley’s Covenant Prayer, saying the Lord’s Prayer at mid-day, and ending the day with the Prayer of St. Francis. Each Tuesday, you are invited to fast from rising up until settling down.
The season of prayer will take us from today, through election day, and lead us into Thanksgiving and the beginning of Advent. On Tuesdays, including Election Day, you are invited to abstain from food and, when you feel hunger, turn to God in prayer — viewing that yearning for food as a call to prayer. Those who are unable to fast for medical or other reasons are asked to abstain from other significant things, like social media or another habit or practice.
Among the greatest gifts United Methodists have to give to our nation is prayer and fasting to undergird our prayers. For prayers and guidance on fasting click below:

Mt. Zion Worship Team Adds
Service-by-Phone Feature
Not able to worship via TV or computer video? Mt. Zion has heard from a few members who aren't connected via computer or smart TV and we wanted to searched for a way to get the Sunday worship service to them.
Thus, we have subscribed to a service called Worship Service-by-Phone. We have a dedicated phone number that our members can call and hear the whole worship service. Call any time of day or night. Each new weekly service will be uploaded by 8:30 am on Sunday and will replace the content from the previous week.
