Outreach Cluster Sept. Focus
There's Hope for the Hungry
Please join Mt. Zion UMC’s Outreach Cluster as they devote the entire month of September to providing families in need with food assistance.
There’s Hope for the Hungry is a mobile food pantry program that St. Peter & Paul Episcopal Church in East Cobb hosts on the first Tuesday of each month, for those in need of food and spiritual nourishment. They help over 100 families monthly.
There’s Hope for the Hungry has never depended upon large organizations or social programs for their support. They depend upon caring people who have a heart for their fellow Americans who are now in poverty.
Covered collection bins are located in the drive-through circle by the main lobby doors and also in the large blue bin located in the Elevator Lobby.
Below is a list of the most requested food items and toiletries. (Please note that standard size containers are best, as oversized or family size containers can be difficult to pack and carry for many who use public transportation.)
Volunteers will move items from outside bins to inside, as needed, and deliver to the local food pantry as the month progresses.

Canned Meats (chicken, tuna, pasta with meat, etc.)
Canned Beef Stew
Canned Vegetables (15.75 oz.)

Our Pastors & Lay Leader
Suggest Using Masks
Friends and Servants of Mt. Zion,
In light of the resurgence in the Covid situation, the pastors and other church leaders have decided to wear masks indoors at church routinely, except as necessary to conduct worship effectively, etc. We would encourage you to do the same in prudent care of our church and surrounding community.
Every individual will have to make a personal decision in this regard. However, we believe this is a reasonable measure, and our best option to do what we can to prevent ongoing spread of the virus while we continue to worship, fellowship, and serve together.
In Christ,
Harden Hopper & Tracy Wheelis
