January 13, 2020
From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,
Our all-parish Come Together Event will take place on Saturday, February 15 th, 2020! Are you registered yet? This promises to be a FABULOUS evening of fun along with great auction items! This is the  ONLY fundraising event that our School/Parish will be having this year. It combines the  School Hot Summer Slice, The  Faith Formation Gala and the  Parish raffle! Therefore, it is extremely important that we have strong participation from all! Get a table with your friends! Invite family members! Register today

Included in today's newsletter is the rundown of the events that will take place during Catholic School's Week which begins with Mass and Open House on Sunday, January 26 th. Included are the "special dress" days. Everything takes place during that week except for our "Souper Bowl". We will begin collecting cans of soup immediately. Students will be able to place their soup under the goalpost of their favorite 2020 Superbowl team. I realize we have one more week before we know who those teams will be, but start watching for soup sales now!

LAST CALL for Let's Build It.  If we don't have enough children, the class will be cancelled.  Please see below for registration information.

Please send waterproof gloves, etc. for recess.  Knit gloves get very wet and are useless after the first recess.

In celebration of the Packers going to the playoffs:  Friday, Jan. 17, will be an out-of-uniform day.  Students are welcome to wear Packer gear or St. Anthony spirit wear!

Blessings,
Mrs. Ellen Knippel

Students in 8th grade are examining Shakespeare's language with Mrs. Kahler. Before Christmas, they covered the historical context of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and a brief biography of the Bard. Currently, they are decoding Act II. Students will read aloud and perform the scenes when possible.

In science, 6th grade is exploring natural disasters with Mr. Regenfelder. They are researching mitigation plans that are currently in place and then coming up with their own plan. They also will be creating a model showing the natural disaster.
