Catholic Virtue Baseball this Summer!
Be part of this winning team!
For the past eight years, a growing group of Catholic boys from throughout the greater Milwaukee area has played baseball together as part of the Hartland-based Lake Country Youth Baseball recreational program. The teams are led by Catholic fathers who work with other available dads to teach the fundamentals of the game, develop character, cultivate strong friendships, instill Catholic virtues and build winning teams. Teams are available for boys currently in K4/K5 (T-ball), 1st/2nd grade (coach-pitch), 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th grade (all player-pitch). Previous playing experience is not required. We are forming Catholic teams in advance to facilitate registration with the league. For more information or to reserve a spot on a Catholic Virtue team, please email
with your name, contact information and the names and grade levels of your children to be registered. Or call Tim Gibbons at (262) 510-3086 for more information. Responses requested by February 1.
From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal
Happy Catholic Schools Week! We are all ready for a fun-filled week! We had a great kick off event on Saturday night with Mostaccioli Madness! Those 8th graders certainly are amazing cooks (parents too!)! Thanks to all who came out to support the students traveling to Washington DC in May.
Sunday, we had many visitors to our Parish/School Open House. Many thanks to
Susan Goggins and Annie Staebler for spearheading this event. We have SO much to "show off" here at SAL! I am certainly proud of all we have to offer. Thanks to the teachers for showcasing their classrooms (not to mention spending Sunday morning in school)! Finally, thanks to YOU parents for getting your registrations in for next year. We already have wait lists for a couple of our classrooms!
Please see the Catholic Schools Week information below for the rundown of events and dress days. Thank for your support!

Catholic Schools Week 2019
Welcome to Catholic Schools Week 2019!
This year, we will incorporate our school theme iPromise into each day's activities!
As a service project throughout the week, SAL will be collecting new or gently-used pajamas in all sizes, baby to adult.
The pjs will be donated to Joy House. This is a women and children's shelter in downtown Milwaukee. You may send pajamas to school all week!
Below, you will find the dress code of the day! This is always a great week to celebrate who we are as Catholic Schools in a creative, fun (and academic) way!
Monday, January 28th
Monday is a spirit wear day. Students may wear jeans or sweats. We will be doing activities with our buddy classes (board games, etc.) and then share a special treat with our buddies. Throughout the week, "Teacher Trivia" will take place with morning announcements.
Tuesday, January 29th
Learn & Grow
Grades 3K-5th should come dressed like a scientist (or someone in the science field, i.e. doctor, nurse, science teacher). Middle School (Gr 6/7/8) will be attending Mass with Archbishop Listecki at CMH in the morning. Grades 6-8th should wear iPromise mission shirts & uniform bottoms. You may change into your science clothes after Mass.
Students will be doing a variety of age-appropriate science activities throughout the day.
Wednesday, January 30th
Sharing our Faith
Dress up on this day. No jeans or sweats please. We will begin our day with 7:45am Mass. Please join us if you are able. The rest of the day will be filled with faith-related activities like a Saints Treasure Hunt and a speaker for all students about vocations.
Thursday, January 31st
Students may wear their favorite sports/team wear (yes, even Bears and Cubs fans!). These can be professional or high school teams. We will be participating in Olympic activities in the afternoon.
Friday, February 1st
Be Grateful and Generous
Pajama Day! To celebrate all of the pjs that students brought in this week, students may wear pjs. However, these pjs should be clean (NOT the ones worn to bed the night before). All contributed pjs, new or gently-used, will be donated along with a letter to the Joy House.
Teacher Trivia will be revealed. Classes will watch a movie in the afternoon.
