The Gospel Unbound: A Powerful Movement of Transformation in the Book of Acts

How powerful is the gospel? Powerful enough to change your life? Powerful enough to change your street? Powerful enough to change the North Shore? This summer The Gospel Unbound series dives into the original gospel movement in the book of Acts, revealing how the message of Jesus sparked a movement reaching into all corners of society, bringing transformation and new life to all kinds of people and communities. Join us as we discover how this same power is still at work today, how we and our communities can be changed by it, and how we can be part of this movement as the gospel is unbound in our lives! This week, we will look at Paul and Barnabus' time in Jerusalem, and their return to Antioch of Syria as shown in the map above.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to and prayed for VBS this year! We are so grateful for the stories we are hearing from parents about how the gospel is taking root in the lives of kids at our church and beyond!

We were also so glad to be able to share our VBS decorations with Chinese Bible Church of Greater Lowell! Let's pray together for their VBS, running August 5th-9th.

Leadership Updates

Sabbatical Beginning - May 27th

As many of you know, Pastor Bobby’s time of sabbatical began on, May 27th - and lasts through August 18th. In order to fully ‘unplug’ during this time, Bobby will not be accessing his email while he is away. If you have a need for pastoral care, an emergency, a question about the ministries of our church, or just want to check in with a staff member or elder, please reference the list below!

This time of sabbatical is also a great time for us as a church family to be thinking on the theme of rest and reflection. We're excited as a community to be learning about this during Bobby's time of Sabbatical!

Request for pastoral prayer or care - Please contact our Associate Pastor, Richard Wallace.

Question about the ministries of our church or want to check in with a staff member - Maddie Hutchison can connect you with the best person to speak with!

Care and Prayer

We pray for Maya Long and her family as they have just welcomed Maya's grandson, Noah, into their home. If you would like to take the family a meal, please visit this link.

We pray for Stephanie Duncan as she undergoes chemo-therapy treatments.

We pray for those in our community who are currently looking for work and/or housing.

Please be praying for several world partners who will be visiting with us this summer: Sharon, Phil and Anneliese, Tom & Megan. May they experience rest and encouragement while they are here. Our partner Merelyn is retiring in July from her ministry to students in Asia. Pray for her transition back to life on the North Shore. Please welcome our partners this summer as you see them!

Notes and Reminders:

Parking Reminder

With the joy of worshipping all together in one service in the summers comes the reality that our parking lot can get quite full quite quickly!

If you consider NSCBC your church home, please consider helping us welcome guests and those with mobility difficulties by parking on one of the streets surrounding the church. Park along any of the green areas on this map, and enjoy the summer weather on a short walk to church!
