November 12, 2018
From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,
This morning we had our monthly, all- school Fire Drill (Our students do an amazing job with these drills!). This week on Wednesday, we will be practicing a Safety Drill (formerly known as a lock- down drill). In previous lock-down drills, we have stayed in our classrooms with the doors locked and lights out.
Wednesday's drill will be a little different in that students will learn how to evacuate if there were ever a danger situation while we are at Mass. Students will learn about the exits in church and where our "Meeting Spot" will be.
In the case of a danger situation, it is important to impress upon our students that they must always listen to the adults around them. We don't want students to be frightened, just aware and prepared. I realize this is not an easy type of discussion to have with your child - but it is important for all of us to keep our students safe. Our teachers are discussing this with the students before we actually do the drill on Wednesday, but I wanted you to be aware ahead of time in case questions are coming home. As always, please don't hesitate to call me with any questions or concerns.

Parent, Student, Teacher conferences are scheduled for this week on Thursday and next Monday. The schedule is pretty tight so please be on time for your scheduled conference.

Friday, November 16th, is a Spirit Wear Day. Students may wear St. Anthony SpiritWwear along with jeans or sweats.

Tuesday, November 20th, will be an Out of Uniform day for all students whose parents return the surveys which were included in your oldest child's report card (grades 1-8) or home folder (Gr 3K, 4K, 5K) last Friday.  Please have your surveys in the office by this Friday, Nov. 16.  Thank you!

Blessings!
Mrs. Ellen Knippel
