CVRPC's Summer in the Field

Our summer planning technicians have been hard at work around our region over the last several weeks. So far they have worked on bridge and culvert inventories in Berlin, Cabot, Calais, Duxbury, East Montpelier, Marshfield, Montpelier, Orange, Washington, Worcester, and Woodbury. Traffic and/or pedestrian counters have been placed in Barre Town, Calais, Roxbury, Waterbury and Waitsfield. Park-n-ride and bus stop inventories have been completed. In addition, they are assisting our team of planners with regional and town plan data collection, mapping of historic landmarks, E99 updates, mitigation actions and Local Hazard Mitigation Plan assistance.

Our techs this year are Kyle Hansen, Jordan Dixon-Gross, and Gavin Corbett-Valade.  Kyle is a graduate of Vermont Law School and Norwich University, Jordan is a graduate of West Virginia University, and Gavin is a student at the University of Southern Maine.  They have been and are an outstanding team!

Act 250 Exemption Map

The Act 250 Interim Exemption Map is live. This new interactive tool will help developers and investors create and improve housing that is more affordable. It shows potential areas where housing may be built today without triggering Act 250 review in designated downtowns, villages, and other desirable areas that already have sufficient infrastructure as well as nearby jobs, amenities, schools, and transportation options.

The Natural Resources Board worked with the Department of Housing and Community Development to create this map. You can learn more about it here.
