Act 181 - Regional Future Land Use Map

CVRPC has finished visiting all 23 Central Vermont municipalities to discuss the Regional Future Land Use Map. Meetings with Select Boards and Planning Commissions covered the new tier-based framework in Act 181, the statewide mapping approach, and ways for towns to provide input.

A draft interactive online map is expected in December 2025, and members of the public are encouraged to provide feedback. The public comment period will run for a minimum of 6 weeks, and CVRPC plans to host two public input sessions before finalizing the map. Request for Proposals - Real Estate Development Services - 87 State Street - Montpelier

The Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (CVRPC), in coordination with the Montpelier Commission for Recovery and Resilience (MCRR) is soliciting qualification-based proposals for real estate development services associated with the potential acquisition of the land and building located at 87 State Street, Montpelier, VT (the property). The value of this contract is expected not to exceed $25,000.00.  Questions due 11/24/25.  Proposals due 11/30/25.

Energy to Communities (E2C) Expert Match Program 

Expert Match offers free, short-term technical assistance to help communities tackle near-term energy challenges. It is ideal for communities facing time-sensitive energy decisions and seeking to identify and understand the range of options for achieving energy goals. Eligible stakeholders - including local governments, Tribes, planning organizations, nonprofits, utilities, and higher education institutions - can receive 40–60 hours of support over 3–4 months from national lab experts and partner organizations. Expert Match is for community stakeholders who have decision-making power or influence in their community but need access to additional energy expertise to inform key upcoming decisions. 

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Local match is not required. Learn more at Energy to Communities Program: Expert Match.

Past assistance included topics such as electricity generation, resilience and access, financing, buildings, transportation, and other infrastructure and crosscutting questions.
