The University of Rochester is hosting a series of workshops on Open Educational Resources (OER) and open pedagogy geared toward librarian and instructor audiences. The next workshops are on "Finding & Evaluating OER" on Tuesday, December 8, and "Understanding Creative Commons Licenses" on Friday, December 11, followed by a series based on the book titled "Open Pedagogy Approaches: Faculty, Library, and Student Collaborations." LACCD's 2021 Winter Session and Spring Semester classes will remain predominately online due to the COVID-19 public health pandemic. Classes returning to in-person modalities during that time will only occur based on the prevailing Health Orders from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) and in accordance with the Health Department’s Reopening Protocols for Institutes of Higher Education. There will be several upcoming Canvas training courses offered in the Vision Resource Center. Register now for four-week Canvas training courses that run from January 4-29, 2021. They include Introduction to Online Teaching (ITC), Introduction to Online, Teaching and Learning (IOTL), and Humanizing Online Learning.
The Dream Resource Center will host "UndocuZoom" at 11 a.m. every Thursday for students, parents, and community members to connect and build a community among LASC's undocumented population. Learn more.
The next Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (or CARE) Check-In forum will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, on Zoom. This twice-a-semester workshop helps current CARE students connect with other CARE students and share beneficial resources. This forum provides a safe space for CARE students to discuss the concerns of a single, head of household parent.
