LASC has once again garnered accolades and honors from Kennedy Center American College Region VIII Theatre Festival organizers, this time following the stellar virtual production “The Threat” in which theater students confronted recent cases of police brutality against African Americans from the virtual stage. Watch the performance.
LASC is saddened to announce the passing of one of its nursing students, Obafemi Omolade, who died December 18, 2020 from COVID-19 complications. Omolade, who was known to his classmates as “Femi,” was a member of the nursing program’s Class of December 2021 and leaves behind his wife and 13-year-old daughter. Read more and support the GoFundMe page set up by his family.
LASC's Spring Flex Day will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. February 5. The theme will be "Owning Our New Realities." Register for the morning session. LASC's Professional Growth Committee is also looking for presenters to facilitate workshops on topics such as "Improvement of Instructional Design and Delivery," "Personal Enhancement and Wellness," "Technological Proficiency" and more. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, LASC's campus is closed to the public, but almost all classes are offered in a remote learning (online) model using Canvas and all student services and business operations will be offered online. Keep up with the latest CVOID-19 news with LACCD's FAQ page.

The Dream Resource Center will host "UndocuZoom" at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. every Wednesday during Winter Session for students, parents, and community members to connect with and build a community among LASC's undocumented population.
