Los Angeles County Public Health reminds everyone to stay home as much as possible for the next two to three weeks to change the trajectory of surging COVID-19 cases and save lives. Herb Alpert Music Center and the Los Angeles City College Music Department will host a concert on YouTube at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, to pay tribute to Kabwe Chanda, who passed away in April from COVID-19. Chanda was the Regional Manager for Los Angeles Community College District's Information Technology Department, which included overseeing the IT operations at LASC. Learn more.

An "Accessible Canvas Page Design" 
workshop hosted by L.A. Mission College at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, will show participants how to use 
headings to create a structured
page that is easy for all students to navigate, use bulleted and numbered lists when appropriate, use color wisely, and more. Register here.
There will be several upcoming Canvas training courses offered in the Vision Resource Center. Register now for four-week Canvas training courses that run from January 4-29, 2021. They include Introduction to Online Teaching (ITC), Introduction to Online, Teaching and Learning (IOTL), and Humanizing Online Learning.

LACCD's 2021 Winter Session and Spring Semester classes will remain predominately online due to the COVID-19 public health pandemic. Classes returning to in-person modalities during that time will only occur based on the prevailing Health Orders from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) and in accordance with the Health Department’s Reopening Protocols for Institutes of Higher Education. Follow the instructions on the faculty tab from the library webpage. LASC Librarians have created a series of subject specific research guides to help students with their research. LASC's Transfer Center is ready to assist students throughout the process of transferring to a university. The Transfer Center will provide students with the information and resources they'll need to smoothly and successfully transfer to a four-year institution. There are workshops every week. Learn more.
Students are welcome to join LASC's Library on Zoom to learn more about how to format their paper and cite sources properly. There will be an MLA workshop at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, and an APA workshop at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24. Learn more.
LASC's Sociology Club gives students an opportunity to meet other students, learn about sociology careers, network, discuss ideas, practice leadership, contribute to their community, and improve your resume. The Dream Resource Center will host "UndocuZoom" at 11 a.m. every Thursday for students, parents, and community members to connect with and build a community among our undocumented population. Learn more.

LASC's Student Success Center Committee presents its 2020 Fall Semester Virtual Poster Showcase. Students could win one of several prizes. Topics for the poster could address voter suppression, homelessness, crimes against women, digital divide during COVID-19, climate change, and racial disparities in law enforcement.
