The old and the young are going to food pantries for groceries. More people than ever are numbered among the working poor in our county.

On behalf of the TIC Sisterhood, and part of an ongoing initiative by the Women's League (named in honor of its founder, Mathilde Schecter), we are collecting new (preferable) or very lightly used bras to help improve the lives of women in homeless shelters and in battered women's shelters. Day trip to the Museum of Jewish Heritage
(Battery Park City, Manhattan)
A docent-led tour of exhibits which are a  living memorial to the Holocaust.

Bim Bam

Bim Bam is a pre-Shabbat class for children ages 3 and under. Join Nursery School teacher, Jonina Steiner, along with special visits from TIC clergy for Hebrew and Shabbat-related  songs, stories, friends and so much fun!  We end every class with Shabbat blessings including lighting the candles, kiddush and hamotzi. Coffee & Conversation 
Join Nursery School Social Worker, Jen Schmelkin,  on Tuesday, October 23, 9:15-10:30 am for coffee and a conversation on adjusting to parenthood, soothing and feeding your baby, taking care of you and more. Looking to connect with other parents of young babies while learning from the experts? Join us for Babies & Bagels once a month on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Annual VisionWalk with the Nursery School
Join 3s Teacher Wendy Kreisberg and other TIC Families for VisionWalk on Sunday, October 21. Bring your family to Glen Island Park in New Rochelle for a morning of fun and inspiration as we walk to raise money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Wendy has been working tirelessly for the Foundation and for her son, Jeremy, who has lost much of his sight to Retinitis Pigmentosa.  Click here  to join Wendy's "Yes Eye Can" team or make a tax deductible donation.   There will be a jumping castle, face painting and more!

"We play for tzedakah/charity, one game at a time."  Players need not be Sisterhood or Temple Israel Center members.

Join the TIC Food Volunteers!  We prepare more than 150 meals on the first Sunday of every month for the hungry and homeless.  Meals are prepared in volunteers' homes and brought to TIC for transport to The Sharing Community in Yonkers, NY. We gather in the lrene Schwebel Chapel at 7:10 am Monday-Friday, at 8:00 pm Monday-Thursday, and at 9:00 am and 8:00 pm on Sunday.   Check our calendar for minyanim times on Shabbat.
