The path to ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church is an arduous journey. It is generally 7-8 years long, and begins in earnest after you have your undergraduate degree completed. It includes a required Seminary experience (3-4 years), and the expectations are that you will arrange the funding yourself, as there is no standard denominational support. As such, each candidate for ministry is reliant upon the support of local churches, family members, and members of the body of Christ for the financial resources necessary to complete this journey to ordained ministry in the UMC.
We have set up a fund to support ministerial candidates from our Huntersville United Methodist Church. As of right now, we have one candidate eligible to receive support for seminary expenses. That candidate is Latosha (Tosh) Jenkins. Today, we are announcing a “$100 for Tosh” campaign. Your gift to the HUMC Ministerial Education Fund will allow the Finance Committee to vote to support our candidate and make sure that funding goes directly to the Seminary. If you give “$100 for Tosh” it would be a great blessing to God’s work in this place and in the lives that candidate will bless in the future.
